Oliver beene?

Ok I thought this show was dead but I heard that last week it was on. I missed it and am pissed. Luckly it was on tonight so I recorded it. Is fox planning on airing the remaining episodes? I think there are like 5 more?

on a side note anyone record this series to dvdr?

Last week they aired the Pilot episode (which, strangely enough, I don't think was ever previously aired ). It was pretty funny. If you have a ReplayTV 5xxx, I could IVS it to you, but I'm guessing you don't. I just read here that Fox is going to air the remaining episodes in the next few weeks then it is gone for good.

I think it is a good show, but Fox and their idiotic Sunday night scheduling helped kill this show. Thankfully the same can not be said of Arrested Development which suffered the same shuffling/missing problems as Beene.

i think FOX is doing okay with AD... it has gotten a lot of critical praise, they show it alot at the same time, and they are doing a DVD soon

I remember the first season of Beene was scheduled right after Malcom in the Middle... and did poorly, hence barely coming back last season. Arrested Development has been pretty consistant in its schedule as well, as far as i know. Blame scheduling all you want, but there's simply less interest.

Arrested Development, while critically acclaimed and IMO the best comedy on TV, has not fared much better than Oliver Beene in the Nielsen ratings. In fact, a lot of us were concerned that Fox would not pick it up. I would still be surprised if it lasts very long. It is a smart comedy, which with the dumbing down of TV (and America in general IMO) will always be stuck with a niche audience. Historically, Fox shows like that don't last long (see the Family Guy, Futurama, and especially Wonderfalls).
