Interesting interview with Joss Whedon
He talks about Angel, Buffy and Firefly not to mention an interesting plot point aboutTara that almost happened but never did.

Good read...thanks for posting it. I always like to read Joss interviews. He's a funny guy.
Here's the "Tara" part which, I must say, would have been freaking awesome to see on the screen:
Here's the "Tara" part which, I must say, would have been freaking awesome to see on the screen:
"In one of the final episodes, the third to last episode, Buffy was going to basically get a 'get out of jail free' card. One completely reality-altering things that she could have—she could bring Angel back to her, she could do anything she wanted. At the end of the episode she basically comes to Willow and says 'Look at these shoes I got!' and Willow's, like, 'What?' 'I got these really awesome shoes. I wanted them, and now I have them!' and Willow's like 'You... used... the wish... for shoes?' and Buffy says 'Of course not, you idiot,' and walks out of the room and Willow turns around and Tara's standing behind her."

I felt the same way Draven. I was really enjoying what I was reading and the Tara news caught me by surprise.
It's funny because I chatted for a short time with Amber at the Comic Con last year and she said she had been asked to come back but as an Evil Tara and she didn't want to do that to the loyal fans. Maybe she would have been evil in Conversations with Dead people but then the other surprise would have come later.

Joss has said, on several occasions (including the "Chosen" commentary) that he was going to bring Tara back, but I don't really know what to make of this. It sounds kind of cheap... if they were going to bring her back, I'd prefer that it be done with a little more than Buffy making a wish.
Originally, Joss wanted Amber to appear as the First Evil in "Conversation with Dead People," but Amber didn't want to appear as the First and somehow harm the memory of Tara. But I think the real reason is that she had a prior commitment and couldn't appear in that episode, but wouldn't have done it if she was available.
Why that should have anything to do with her not coming back later, I don't know, unless her commitment prevented her from doing so or Joss was holding a grudge against her for not doing CWDP.

Just as a warning to those who maybe haven't gotten through all episodes of Angel and Buffy (like me, currently watching Angel via Netflix), there are MASSIVE spoilers in that interview.
Great read, though
