Still the best show on TV.

They are. They have a special on their lives (on Discovery, or HBO) that is very moving. They are truly special people with amazing outlooks on life. It's very moving and you don't feel sorry for them at all, you feel happy for them at the end.

As I said a week ago, they got the Schappell twins (Lori and Reba) to play the Rosenbergs.

They should have gotten conjoined twins that were better actors... ;)

I don't know any bittorrent websites, but try and find it over bittorrent.

I've got it on my replay. How did you want it? Do you have broadband?

movielib 08-18-04 11:57 PM

I know this is not the prevailing opinion but I think the last two episodes have been the worst in the history of the show. I hope we are about to get back to what is more normal for the series.

riley_dude 08-19-04 12:07 AM

The worst in the history of the show???

Where else can you get orgys with two guys and pot?
I am surprised Christian and Sean didnt go at it alone with the way they were showing affection towards each other.

I enjoyed the episode although the reattaching the girls at the end was a bit schmaltzy.

I hope we are about to get back to what is more normal for the series.
And what would that be? The show has always been a Soap opera with Plastic Surgery as a backdrop and tonight's episode was no different. Neither was last week.
What would make you like it more?

I thought it was pretty creepy the way the hooker kept turning into Julia - what was that supposed to mean?
What I got from it is that the three of them were always going to be together as a sort of "Special Family."

More normal? Where have you been? This series isn't "normal." If you want normal television, watch Everybody Loves Raymond.

Chew 08-19-04 06:01 AM

Although they certainly beat us over the head with metaphors this week, it was still a pretty great episode. I kinda wish the whole "is the practice going to break up?" sub-plot was spread over a two-parter, however. They were back together before the possibility of splitting up even sank in.

I would guess you haven't seen S1. The last two eps have been consistent with the flavor of S1. All S2 previous episodes are the ones that haven't been "normal".

And if you didn't like the last two eps, honestly, you don't like the series. That's what it's about.

I said "normal for the series," not "normal." I despise that Raymond show.

I love how when someone disagrees with some people they do the "then you should be watching something really stupid or simple-minded (fill in the blank)" thing.

The last two shows have been far more more heavyhanded, awkwardly constructed and contrived than usual. These two shows have seemed like they are two hours long each. In my humble opinion.

I guess you are the minority. I find the writing has improved over the last few episodes.

I'm going to have to disagree with you too. I thought the last 2 episodes were 2 of the best I've seen, not just for Nip/Tuck but on TV in the last year. Simply amazing. I do agree that the metaphors were a bit much and the storyline of this last episode was pretty predictable but damn, the writing and acting are some of the best on TV. The scenes on the airplane and with the hooker were unbelievable.

On a side note, can't Sean get in trouble for allowing the mother to kill her daughter?

riley_dude 08-19-04 12:07 PM

I thought the same thing. I thought a Doctor had to do it. You can't just go in a room and turn off life support.

At least my wife agrees with me. :)

Red Dog 08-19-04 12:26 PM

One of the rare times that I'm not on your side, movielib.

Groucho 08-19-04 12:29 PM

Since this is turning into a "gang bang," let me state that I pretty much agree 100% with movielib.

Thanks. Now it's you, me and my wife.

Uh-oh, that could be a metaphor for Sean's, Christian's and Julia's relationship.

adamblast 08-19-04 03:07 PM

I haven't seen the episode in question, but I completely disagree with movielib, his wife, and Groucho's exploded head.

Patman 08-19-04 06:08 PM

Whatever Nip/Tuck is or isn't, it's never boring, and that counts for something.
