I don't understand the apparent lack of love for this show. Seems threads for it are far and few between. People don't know what they're missing.
Another excellent episode, which is shocking, because I hate whenever Kate Warner pops up. Add to that the fact this episode revolved around yet another school-shooting, and I was expecting this to be one of my least favorite episodes.
Great twists, and they had me thinking JJ might be the shooter for a while. And that ending... Absolutely incredible.
They had to have 99% of the audience expecting the shooter was Robert Iler. Just like Monk and Emma Caulfield last week, shows like this usually give the surprise away by casting a notable actor in the "bad-guy" role. That just added to the excellence this episode seemed to be gushing with.
You spoilered the ending, but since the show has aired and we're just discussing it in a thread for the episode... Sorry if I ruin it for anyone, but don't read a thread if you haven't watched the episode.
I'm positive he died. Shot at a close range in the chest... But the way the ending was filmed/editted clinches the fact that he did die. They fade to black and white, and slow gradually slow the framerate down, finally to pause on one frame?
They might have been trying to emulate a securty camera showing an inverse school shooting (Guard kills student), but the color faded out and the speed gradually decreased. Without a doubt, the effects implemented in the last few seconds were intended to convey that he was dead on the scene. They didn't come right out and say "Oh my God, he's dead!", but that ending was about as close as it comes. There's little doubt in my mind.

AJ had no punching skills, that's for sure.
I liked the slow-mo glass exploding off the security guard's head shot.
And to be fair, that thread title is deceptive enough that people might not have seen the episode, and then clicked on the thread for some other issues on this show's broadcast.

I love the show, but I am several episodes behind, so I never seem to post in the threads.
I think we are currently on the 7/18 episode, I have a bunch in my Tivo to catch up on.

There is love for this show. We talk about it a lot around here. There are plenty of silly episodes, though, and they often don't create much discussion.
I will agree that this is obviously one of the best shows on Sunday nights on USA during the summer.

I think that last black and white shot was to emmulate that security camera video of that police drug raid at that high school several months ago. The one with students on the ground with police running around with guns drawn. And they didn't even find any drugs.

I for one love this show. I haven't been posting in current threads because I just caught up (yesterday as a matter of fact). I didn't have much to do so I watched five episodes (including the new one). I definitely think this is my favorite show on television right now. I am beyond happy that I bought seasons one and two blindly.

This has been one of my favorites since it first appeared on USA. I was very suprised that Anthony Michael Hall was able to carry the lead of a dramatic series. Guess I still thought of him as the ultimate geek he played in the eighties.
The show has a varied and interesting cast, I mean "Winchester" playing a money hungry preacher. Good to see him play somebody who may be evil.
I really like the vision effects. The fisrt season dvd's have some really great info about the effects.
This past weeks episode was an unusual twist on the school mayhem theme. I felt it was an interesting choice for Johnny not being able to save the student. That is one reason this show appeals to me. Even though Johnny can see the potential future, he is not always able to save everyone. Makes for a more realistic feel than to have a happy ending all the time.

::raises hand:: Oh! Oh! I love the show too!
Seriously AMH really does a great job on the show. 3 seasons with no signs of slowing down. I wonder how long the show will last.

Finally got around to this one. Real solid episode. I liked the theme of the episode more than the plot. Trying to force the hooded sweatshirt thing at us was lame, but everything else was well done.
Oh, and the ending was to emulate a security camera. I don't see how it relates in any way to whether he lived or not.
