Re: American Dad! 150th Episode "Lost in Space"
Wasn't the funniest episode, but I love how they do these high concept episodes. Usually they are entertaining as hell. The Sinbad appearance was random as hell and made me laugh. I loved that Roger was the love of the life of that alien.

I really like all of the music in this episode.
Had to look it up. The music in this episode was by "Wax Fang". Never heard of them. I guess they opened for My Morning Jacket at some point. They don't have many songs on Youtube.

Re: American Dad! 150th Episode "Lost in Space"
I really like American Dad and am surprised it's almost done with Season 9.
For a show I didn't like initially, it's now my favorite of the animation block.
Also, this episode reminded me of The Fifth Element.

They should do a 90 minute rock opera about Jeff getting home with Sinbad-wan kenobi

Re: American Dad! 150th Episode "Lost in Space"
This episode also reminds me of an old episode of Ducktales titled, "Duckworth's Revolt" where Huey, Dewey, Louie and Scrooge McDuck's butler are kidnapped by anthropomorphic vegetable aliens who capture other aliens throughout the galaxy and use them as slaves. The three boys and Duckworth then stage an uprising. I doubt it was a conscious lift (it was 26 years ago), but there are some striking similarities between both episodes.

Wax Fang's "Majestic" is blowing up on Youtube. I bet they're happy to get a ton of exposure. It's an immediately likable song.
American Dad's "hot tub" episode also has some similar, epic music and aesthetics.

These last two episodes really setup next season for a lot of plotlines.

Best parts of the show are...
1. Roger
2. The surreal and avant garde parts.
3. The harsh and violent comedy.
I would agree that Roger is the main character carrying the show. The principal has been really good too - but he only gets a minute or two per episode. Stuff with Stan is harsh and makes me laugh sometimes.

American Dad moving to TBS in 2014
I know people are divided on the show, but imo it's the best of the "adult skewing" animated shows alongside Archer. This is unusual since I hadn't heard of American Dad even being considered for cancellation on Fox.
However, this also isn't exactly surprising since Warner also owns Adult Swim and repeats of American Dad draw 2.5m viewers and a 1.0 in the demo, which for cable is pretty much rock solid. Actually it performs about on par with Family Guy in terms of repeats, I'm sure TBS would buy Family Guy outright if they could afford it.
TBS continues to boost its slate to provide better primetime lead-ins to its flagship talk show Conan. The network announced today that has picked up Fox’s animated comedy American Dad! and will air it beginning in 2014 — the Turner net has ordered 15 episodes of the 20th Century Fox TV-produced series’ 11th season. The Seth MacFarlane comedy premiered on Fox in 2005 and has been a long-standing member of that network’s Sunday animation block. American Dad! will kick off its 10th (and now last) season on Fox on September 29. Under the new deal, fellow Turner network Adult Swim will present encores of each episode after initial airings on TBS. TBS and Adult Swim already air reruns of American Dad! and MacFarlane’s Family Guy throughout the networks’ lineups.
“American Dad! is a great fit for TBS, a favorite of comedy fans who like smart, irreverent humor with ample doses of biting wit and skewering satire,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movie, in announcing the deal. “We look forward to welcoming Seth MacFarlane and the rest of his team as they bring this iconic show to TBS.”
Creators MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman are exec producers.
“American Dad! is a brilliantly inventive series, and TBS’s desire to platform new episodes demonstrates the enduring power of great and compelling content,” commented Twentieth Century Fox TV Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. “Seth, Mike and Matt have created an incredibly rich world of unique characters, and we couldn’t be happier that they will be able to continue to tell their trademark brand of subversive, hilarious stories to their millions of fans.”

Re: American Dad moving to TBS in 2014
This news sucks. Its the only Macfarlane cartoon I watch, and its the best mostly because he isnt as involved with it compared to Family Guy. I guess i will be watching it on dvd from now on since I no longer have cable.

So I guess they're not picking up The Cleveland Show? Is it officially dead? Where else will I see a cartoon version of David Lynch on a regular basis?

The fact David Lynch showed up on Louie and The Cleveland Show in the same season is pretty awesome.
I also feel The Cleveland Show was better than people give it credit for.

While I don't recall an official cancellation, it wasn't on the schedule and they said they weren't producing anymore episodes.

Re: American Dad moving to TBS in 2014
I get the feeling this show will die off as a ongoing concern in the ratings. It loses the Family Guy lead-in, which was likely a critical component of its success. American Dad has been funnier than Family Guy for several years now, but its type of humor is not as broad as Family Guy's.

American Dad! (Fox) -- Season 10 Thread
For the last 9 seasons, American Dad! has smoked Family Guy in terms of putting out a quality product, and this season is no different. Even though, this is it's last season on Fox (next season will be on the TBS network), I think this current season deserves its own thread. This is definitely the best show Seth MacFarlane has put out by light years.
Last week was a blisteringly apt spoof of independent movie cliche's, and last night's episode did a great send-up of Breaking Bad. All in all, this season has been consistently clever and funny.
I'm looking forward to how the rest of this season plays out. What say you?

Re: American Dad! (Fox) -- Season 10 Thread
This is one of the few shows that seems to get stronger with every passing season (potentially peaking with last season's Lost in Space episode), and I'm enjoying this one a great deal so far.
