I got teary-eyed when Jay London got kicked off. I would have like to see Todd and Jay in the final five. The others don't really matter to me.

what's weak about all the other comics is that they need more ethnic humor. alonzo is strongest at this, tammy is okay but gets a little old, gary should make more funa bout jews. kathleen i think it kind of boring. john is like an excited little kid, like him or hate him

I still don't see what anyone sees in Kathleen. She's pretty much sucked at every single challenge, although admittedly only a handful really involved humor. She's not been a single head to head either. So to this point, the only actual comedy we've seen out of her is her initial auditions which really weren't anything special.

Kathleen and Todd Glass are the only two of the entire group that I've seen before. She did win that kids' party challenge though.

Agreed about the roast, but I thought his head-to-head performance was a mixed bag. He has some really good material, but his delivery was just lifeless to me. Maybe he was just nervous, I dunno.

Based on what they've shown on the show, Kathleen is not that funny. But if you have heard heard standup before, you would know how funny she really is. Had she been selected for a head-to-head, she would have really shined.

No, you're dead on about Alonzo. He's a great writer, but he has no personality and his delivery in front of an audience is terrible.

I've noticed in the past couple weeks they've been playing Alonzo on the XMComedy channel quite a bit. They've been playing his standup that he used in the head-to-head-to-head, so I was a little bit bummed because I had heard that set before. I thought John was hilarious. I was laughing out loud. I thought Corey did a horrible job.

Kathleen is an old pro, and would have just SLAUGHTERED anyone in a head to head - one of the reasons you saw very few people voting for her until the end - when she couldn't pick them for the head to head.

I don't know much about Kathleen but the snipppets of stand up they show after commercials must not do her justice 'cause she can't even make me smile. Also, it isn't like she's funny in the house.

I look forward to seeing her perform in the finale, but by then she may be rusty since all she's done is sit around the house and play with a dog.

I suspect the sets in the head to head are actually 10+ minutes and we just get the highlights. Give Kathleen that much time and it's all over. I'm not saying shes a Sienfeld or Robin Williams type of heavy hitter, but compared to all the relative newbies in the house, it really wouldn't be a contest.

She may not win the whole thing because as we've seen, the funniest comic doesn't always win. But that didn't stop the other comics from giving her a wide berth.

Kathleen sucks.

I saw her special on Comedy Central and she did the most hackneyed stuff. Like jokes about figure skaters and Canada. LAME.

I agree with this. I've seen most of the episodes this year, and IMO the funniest comic has got to be ALonzo. He rocked last week during the performance.

The only thing that really bugs me about this show, after having seen that special "choosing" of whose in the house by Drew Carey and company, I still don't trust the producers or that Jay Mohr(who I really, really dont like).

Sorry I've forgetten names, but if that girl with the big boobs wins, or that 6 ft 3 dude with the slick black hair, you can tell this was a beauty contest and not a comedic contest, as though they both have SOME decent material, pretty much almost any of the others are a lot funny overall comedians than they are.

How did it slip through that we had one of the most bizarre posts in DVDTalk in a long time on the first page?

I found it hilarious when Corey said that the 3 heavyweights of the house were competing.

I was like "Uh Buddy, you aint one of them". His schtick appeals STRICTLY to the democrats ONLY, whereas Alonzo and John's comedian appeals to all ethnic groups. When I saw that there was 3 democrats in the crowd, I knew that Corey would be getting the boot.
I'm not sure which odd statement you are talking about. I'm guessing it's that one. I don't remember Corey doing anything remotely political, unless you think only democrats like ghetto humor

I was a little nervous when both Alonzo and John were selected becuse they are far and away my favorites, but Corey stunk. I thought he stood a chance at coming in second, but this was the worst I've seen him do. It was more painful than watching Jay London bomb.

i know kathleen has some good material but her delivery is a little lifeless, her jokes come out a little too slow, and not everyone can relate to sports. i think her jokes are too "white" because she doesn't use any ethnic humor, that would be hilarious.

alonzo on the other hand, can be both passive and excitable. that's his personality. you just see him all stoned in the mansion because he is stoned.

i think naturman would've owned anyone of these guys, jim norton too

Naturman? Maybe. Norton? Definitely not. I don't think that Norton would have made the top ten.
