Jorja Fox and George Eads Fired from CSI!!!

Yes, Variety's bit cites breach of contract for the firing, so not showing up for work (they wanted more money) would be breach of contract. Wow.

Da Thrilla 07-15-04 07:53 PM

That sucks! Jorja Fox was one of the reasons I tuned in!

movieking 07-15-04 07:57 PM

Very interesting. Realistically, it won't change the show much. This show is not character driven. Kinda like L&O switching cast members. Not very often it happens with a top rated show. Not enough if you ask me...

MikeL. 07-15-04 07:57 PM

Wow.

Just wow. Got to give it to LM for not giving in to actors demands. It usually doesn't happen that way.

Hmm....maybe Jorja can go back to ER

Patman 07-15-04 08:02 PM

What's funny is that Jorja's character Sarah's last scene is with Grissom picking her up after getting picked up for drunk driving (or being in some drunken state, but I think it was drunk driving). Nice easy way to write her out of the show on that one.

And to write out Nick, just say that he was disgusted with how his promotion was snatched away from him (due to Greg getting the call up to the Majors), and he got a better job offer somewhere else.

mverleg1 07-15-04 08:06 PM

NO! I disagree with movieking that it won't change the show. The chemistry of the cast and the acting ability of the cast is HUGELY important. What is CSI without a cast that can act and works well with each other: CSI - Miami. THIS IS BAD!

movieking 07-15-04 08:07 PM

I didn't watch it at all this season since I found that the show really went downhill. Interesting about Sara getting nailed for DWI. Why was she doing this?

Good to hear that Greg got a promotion. I hate Nick.

Patman 07-15-04 08:17 PM

I think Sara got depressed over a case (I can't quite recall her subplot). Greg gets to be a field CSI as soon as he finds and trains his replacement in the lab, so they'll have to cast a new lab guy, don't know if this just means Wallace Langham gets more air time, or another person will be cast for the lab tech role for the night shift.

FantasticVSDoom 07-15-04 08:19 PM

There's always CSI New York...

tboogie 07-15-04 08:22 PM

No way! Nick is so easy on the eyes and looks great wearing a baseball cap. Sara can go, but not Nick!

Red Dog 07-15-04 08:26 PM

It's like L&O - no major change unless Peterson left. Jorja Fox didn't do anything for me. Frankly, the subtle promotion plot-line was lame this year anyhow. Jorja Fox didn't do anything for me.

das Monkey 07-15-04 08:27 PM

Yeah, but did she do anything for you?

 That's what I deserve when I'm on my 4th Maker's of the night.

btlives 07-15-04 08:48 PM

Wow..I am going to miss Jorja.
She is why I gave it shot on Friday nights
when it first aired.

I nominate Leslie Bibb as her replacement.

RD, you sound a little bitter in regards to Jorja.

;)

I agree - Peterson leaving would be the only devastating thing that could happen to this cast.

I nominate Nikke DeLoach - she's going to need a job soon.

Wow, first a mediocre last season and now replacing two cast members. This one's going downhill fast, methinks. Too bad.

Yeah, but think of the Emmy nod!

Yup, Emmy = Downhill.

I guess all they need now is John Wells. ;)

Those were my 2 least favorite characters so this doesn't really bother me. The show could use a change.

coladar 07-15-04 11:37 PM

I couldn't believe it when I saw the article on Yahoo News. But I'm actually rather glad it happened. Jorja was  worthy, but both her character and Eads' had taken a downward spiral and were not adding much of anything to the show. Hopefully this will be the start of a trend.

I get so utterly pissed off when people that make hundreds of thousands of dollars for a 22 minute show decide they think they can get more by screwing over the rest of the cast. Jane whatshername from Malcolm in the Middle did this. Everybody shows up on the set except for one or two people, and no one can get any work done until these people decide they've gotten a big enough raise.

Sadly Fox caved in on MitM, but hopefully firing basically half the cast of the top rated show will send a message to other actors. If they want more money, they should either do it as a group like the cast of Friends or shut the hell up. Disrupting the filming and the problems that causes for their fellow castmembers and crew is just such a pathetic, tacky and immature way to demand more money. Good riddance.

Patman 07-15-04 11:43 PM

I don't find Jorja Fox even remotely attractive.
