I, for one, am pretty upset about this...I consider all these actors as part of a family I've gotten to know. Eads and Fox should now FIRE their agents...who probably gave them the advice not to show up for work. I think CBS realized that they are going to have to re-negotiate with Petersen soon (who IS the show, IMHO), so they saw this as an opportunity to free up some money. Actually, I don't think CSI NEEDS to find replacements...just give some of the others bigger storylines and parts.
I doubt if CBS's reaction would have been the same had Petersen not shown up for work...then again, Petersen doesn't strike me as the kind of actor who would breech his contract during a salary negotiation. I'm wondering though just how strong the off-camera relationships are between all these actors. I mean, technically, the other actors are in a position where they could DEMAND that Eads and Fox be negotiated new deals (much like the cast of FRIENDS all stuck together). The fact that they haven't, indicates to me that the exit of Eads and Fox may not be that disappointing of a thing for some of the cast and crew... |
wonder if the spinoffs played a role in them wanting more money?
if I was them I might be thinking "hey, this show has caused two spinoffs, I think cbs can afford to give em a raise if they can afford 2 spinoffs while the original is still on" |
I wouldn't be surprised if Dick Wolf swoops in and signs up Jorja Fox for the soon-to-be vacant ADA position on Law & Order. It would be a direct shot in the franchise war and serve to attract Jorja/CSI fans to L&O instead of CSI: NY.

Big mistake by CSI in my opinion. I already stopped watching as much last year, but this is totally going to tune me out. Nick was my favorite character on the show. The main reason I liked CSI so much was because of how well the characters interacted. Like someone said earlier, CSI: Miami sucks because the characters aren't as good as the original cast. I totally agree and this will hurt CSI.

jorja - not a fan, and certainly don't find her attractive, not in the least bit.
eads - he's alright, but certinaly kind of hokey peterson is also a producer on the show, right? i think maybe he has more clout if he wanted to hold out. anyway, my favorite characters are grissom, warwick, and greg. then nick and ex-stripper girl. then everyone else. then sarah. |
As the article on page 2 states, Peterson is claiming this will be his last year. The producers should take the opportunity of Eads and Fox leaving to reconstruct the team this year by giving Marg an even bigger shot as a team leader. Hopefully, they take the opportunity to give Greg that field CSI slot he had been working towards last year.

I liked the Nick Stokes character when he was shagging Krista Allen in the early years. Good times.

CBS should wake up and realize it's the ACTORS that make this show...not the concept.
Incidently, CSI without Gil Grissom would be like The Sopranos without Tony. If Petersen walks at the end of the year, I'm guessing the majority of fans will to. Not that I would blame him for walking...he's 100% correct about CBS oversaturating the program...CSI Miami is only so-so, and the pilot for CSI New York was god-awful. |

The ratings of CSI: Miami don't bear this out. I agree it is a so-so show, but there is a large audience for this so-so show. Ratings, not quality, is the bottom line for CBS. |

I think she is pretty cute. But hey if they got a you know what, I don't care.
|
I'll go further. Jorja Fox is ugly. And she can't act either. Every sentence has the same tempo. I'm not sure who is a worse actress, Jorja Fox or Alyson Hannigan. I can't stand either of them. If anything, this will get me to watch CSI more.

Surprise, Surprise.....
Fox's firing doesn't make any sense, especially since sources are claiming that she did send over the letter and the fact she did show up for work. That was a little quick. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Fox back on the show. Notice that the network is not commenting, however. This could be big, because if everything gets worked out behind the scenes, they can come out with the whole "this is a huge misunderstanding" ala Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man 2. It's interesting that CBS is finally taking a stand, though. I guess they're tired of being held up for cash like the Raymond and Becker casts have done to them in recent years past. TK |
Very disappointed to hear about Eads. Nick Stokes was my third favorite character (next to Grissom and Greg the DNA guy).
Fox was my least favorite character on CSI and on ER. I hope that Dick Wolf doesn't use the two wrongs to make a right mantra and cast her in the L&O slot currently held by Rohm. We shall see. |
I don't blame CBS for doing what they did. It gets pretty tiring reading about all of these actors boycotting filming to get a raise from the network and they have sent a message to anyone that might try going this route.
Enough is enough! |

Not too mention the numerous rebirths of ER....

The loss of Sara Sidle will hurt this show. Her character was great and her interactions with her other fellow CSI agents were great.

man, no amount of stuff magazine airbrushing can cover up that mug... and they even tried to hide it in the shadows of the second picture...
no one has said she has a bad body. she certainly has a decent one. it's that face... |
I'm sure Entertainment Weekly will have all the inside scoop in next week's edition
I'm glad to see CBS/FOX take a stand and not cave in to greedy actors Just wished NBC would have done that with that annoying cast of Freinds!..I hated that show  CSI is more plot driven so actors ARE INTERCHANGABLE A bullet fragment blowing up in someones gut still looks cool regardless  |
