I swear if Ian McShane isn't nominated for Al Swearengen, it will be a travesty. And if he doesn't win, thats an even bigger travesty! His speech to his new 'lady' at the end was priceless.
You s*** my d*** and shut the ***** up!

I'd have never believed Lovejoy had this in him. Live and learn. I third the endorsment of him getting some hardware.

I'll say it again. 'Al Swearengen'...best character on TV right now.

"The only time you need to open your mouth is to suck my prick."
Give the man his emmy already. I'm really surprised how this show turned out, I never thought I would enjoy it so much.

That's the cool thing about HBO: Six Feet Under kicks in next week, so we go from The Sopranos and Deadwood to another great, groundbreaking show (which, admittedly, has ground to make up after a so-so year last year, hopefully back to the dizzying heights it reached in S2), and we have the best show on TV, The Wire, looming somewhere on the horizon.
We will look back on Sunday nights in this era as a Golden Age at some point in the future after Rupert Murdoch buys HBO and replaces all of this with Donald Trump shoving cooked sugar beets up people's asses for the amusement of their spouses.

I agree, his character is one of the most charasmatic I've seen in a long time. He IS Al Swearengen.
He showed his softer side last night. "You don't have to swallow, you can go spit it out."
The big softy.

Did anyone else notice that Ricky Jay wrote Sunday's episode? Impressive.
