One question about the fate of Tony Almeda: Why does the president not pardon him? He would not need to do jail, and his professional career would be over...
Good ending. I wonder if some of the things Saunders said to Jack are starting to sink in...
And as far as the heroin habit is concerned, did it ever occur to anyone that Jack is an indiscriminate junkie? Whether heroin or adrenaline, he doesn't care what it is so long as it gets him high?

Great finale, definitely better than last season's. I am almost sure Tony will be pardoned, and he and Michelle will leave CTU. Also I doubt Palmer will be working at CTU, but even in retirement he might still be involved in some sort of business that gets mixed up in next season's plot.
Overall, a good resolution and great ending from Jack. Most everyone did their job well, and there are enough little things leftover to keep us interested for next season.
Oh and Chloe screws up again.
"They said I can reassign anyone and I'm picking you, Kim. So leave the woman to collecting her dead husband's gun so she can shoot our prime suspect."

Anyway, I liked it. I thought it was great and knew what was coming to Chase when Jack gave that backward glance. Sucks about Tony. He's my favorite character and Michelle is H-O-T.

Tony: "I'm glad no one else was hurt by my actions."
Except the two dead cops, the carjacked driver, the fugitive, Saunders, Gael's wife, and Chase's arm.
If Tony hadn't let Saunders escape, the subsequent events would not have happened.
Poor Jack. He's had a rough 24 hours.

I liked the last scen with Jack breaking down in the car. I also thought he was going to shoot up.
I figured Chase's arm was going to get cut off once it got stuck to the bomb since the writers had to go out with a "shocking" moment.
I read this morning Kiefer and Reiko Aylesworth are dating now so I wouldn't be surprised if Michelle pops up next season.

The end with Jack crying in the car, besides being ripped-off from "The Shield," was Emmy pandering at it's most obvious. Expect that to be the "clip" at the ceremony.

I must've been the only one who thought that Jack was gonna go call Kate Warner at the end of the episode. I guess it was his conversation with Chase earlier regarding the effect their work has on their personal lives(or lack thereof) and Jack saying to Kim that he had things he had to do. Plus if you think about it, it's been just under 24 hours since they last spoke on the phone, so it's not like she wouldn't be expecting him to call.
That being said, I had no problem with the closing scene of the season. Men can cry. Even Jack Bauer.

I also thought he'd tell CTU to go F themselves when they radioed him to come back...but Jack's a solider - always will be.

After last night's breakdown, I officially name Jack Bristow the biggest bad ass on TV. Do you think that he cried when Irina left him? When he found out she was a spy? When he thought his daughter was dead? No way! I bet Jack Bristow has had his tear ducts removed! He would never allow for an emotional breakdown, even if he was by himself.
Chase = Anakin Skywalker = young, cocky and missing a hand
Jack = Obi Wan Kenobi = the mentor; wiser but worried about his apprentice's lack of restraint

Who the hell is Jack Bristow and Irina? Are you watching the 24 knock off "21"?
edit: Nevermind, I see you are from Canada. You must be watching the canadian version.

I second Jack Bristow as being the biggest baddass.
Amazing how they can get tfrom teh school to the operating room all in the span of a commercial break.
Decent final ep, and I liked the ax/arm scene, classic 24.
I don't think they wanted another cliffhanger because they wanted these first 3 seasons to stand alone.

Enough with the aquarium! As pointed out by others in this thread - it wouldn't have worked - unless the top of the aquarium had an air-tight seal on it - which means Chase couldn't have stuck his arm in it. The virus would have made air bubbles that rose to the surface and popped out into the atmosphere. Plus...why kill the fish? Haven't enough suffered on this show?! Glad none of you guys work for CTU.

It's good they didn't do a cliffhanger, especially since the last one was just a red herring. Other than a shot of Palmer's mangled palm, it had no bearing on this season.
