The Sopranos: "Long Term Parking" 5/23/04

Before anyone starts posting after the episode is aired, I have one question:

Why do we have to wait two weeks for the season finale as opposed to one like we always do? What makes the HBO movie they're airing next week so special they have to bump the regular show a week?

Rypro 525 05-23-04 05:15 PM

memorial day is the excuse i heard.
the prieview made this seem to be a great episode.

can't possibly be worse than last week's episode.

I kind of liked last week's episode.

Was that FURIO?!?

al_bundy 05-23-04 08:23 PM

can someone bring me up to date on what happened to furio?

and another psycho girlfriend.

TabascoKid 05-23-04 08:29 PM

Guess it wasn't. Wouldn't that have been interesting:)

Furio disappeared when he realized he was in love with Carmela and that it was starting to get too serious. He hasn't been seen since.

Dr. DVD 05-23-04 08:38 PM

Adrianna's clock is ticking....

Dr. DVD 05-23-04 08:39 PM

Dang! I thought for certain Christopher had killed her!

This ep. definitely has a season finale vibe about it. I think we are in for some major surprises/twists in two weeks.

TabascoKid 05-23-04 08:51 PM

Wow

Holy

Crap.

Awesome, awesome episode.

TabascoKid 05-23-04 08:58 PM

Anyone recognize the song during the credits?

Dr. DVD 05-23-04 09:00 PM

Was anyone else's heart pounding at the end?

Drea De Matteo deserves an Emmy nom. on this episode alone, and practically a win when you look at the other one featuring her. The look on her face when she was in the car with Sylvio really conveyed the tragedy of the situation. I actually wished she was in the car herself when they did the ending bit with the music.

I really am at a loss as to what the season finale will hold, since a lot of this week's ep. seemed to tie up the long terms arcs.

I think next week will be more of a first ep. of the final season than the last one of this season. Seems like war is about to begin.

MACD23 05-23-04 09:01 PM

finally, a great episode......this was an awesome one....finale looks like all out war.

Sure hope that show is a success.

Best of the season, by far. Clearly the bright spot in what has been, in my opinion, a lackluster season.

This episode made last week's episode resonate. I can't wait for this to come out on DVD. It would be awesome to watch the last 2 episodes back to back. Tony's stay at the Plaza was a great setup as the calm before the shitstorm.

I called it last week, I knew Tony would go to war with Sack before selling out his own blood. Although he just about did, if it weren't for Johnny's smugness.

But man, Adriana biting it is one of the top 5 moments in this series' history. I'm going to miss the scenes between her and Christopher - a lot of great scenes on that black leather couch. :(

One of the best Sopranos episodes E V E R.

I think my favorite part was when Tony & Johnny S. met by the bridge, Johnny full of himself, Tony somewhat trying to show his respects and be the nice guy--I just couldn't stand it. Then he stopped, turned, and said, "Go f*** yourself, you, Philly, all of you. He's my f***** cousin." SO perfect.

Was there anyone who thought Christopher actually HAD tried to kill himself? I know I sure didn't...

Absolutely tremendous.

al_bundy 05-23-04 09:07 PM

funny how chris turned out. a few seasons back he took a trip to hell and back and supposedly had an epiphany. Now he is totally in the Tony camp.

Was anyone else thinking that the episode was about to end when we got the scene of Adrianna in the car by herself heading under the interstate signs? The music and everything else really had me set up, and when it cut to her in the car with Sylvio, I started to put the pieces together, and apparently she did as well.

Is that really what he said? I couldn't hear too well as I was busy typing. ;)

i had a shred of thought that maybe chris had tried to kill himself, but was 99% sure it was a setup and she was all but dead.....when sil came and took her in the car and they kept showing his face and then her looking out the window at the woods, i knew he was going to turn off and take her out for good......unbelievable though, so quickly it ended.
