Originally posted by Kaiser Soze Thanks for the help. Well, I'm kind of dissapointed, just because I cannot stand Pearl Jam. However, most of what I hate about them has to do with Eddie Vedder's voice. So we'll see. I really like Shawn Smith's voice though. I looked him up on google, and he has a new CD out now...it's called Shield Of Thorns. That closing credits song is on the new cd. Amazon doesn't have it, and the ones on ebay are going for way too much, around $20 each. I'm sure it has a lot do with the popularity of the Sopranos. So now I just need to find a good deal on the cd. http://www.downloadcounter.com/cgi-b...race&account=1 |

Originally posted by mdc3000 This episode was FANTASTIC. This is the Sopranos I LOVE... it's just too damn bad that this was episode 12 and not episode 3....maybe then Season 5 wouldn't have been so disappointing. I really think they stretched out far too much of this season....lots of filler to get to the meat... Season 6 and the finale are shaping up to be pretty intense though... after last week's complete waste of time, i'm glad to see the real Sopranos has finally returned. MATT The effect that an M-80 has going off during a thunderstorm is far different than one going off on a quiet peaceful evening. |
I hate to speak ill of the dead, but did Adriana look like a drag queen a lot of times?

Watching the ep. again tonight, I am fully convinced that Adrianna knew it was coming the minute she saw the woods. I also think that Sylvio was just toying with her, as the way in which he phrased his comments suggests a bit of insincerity.
Furthermore, Adrianna really begins to break down after they take the exit. She sees the forest first, but once the turn is made she begins to truly grasp reality of her situation. Her pain is made even more potent by Sylvio's comments, and her face almost suggests that she wishes he would spare her the suffering and just end it. When he finally gets out of the car, I don't think her face suggests surprise as much as a "this is it," expression, similar to Lee Harvery Oswald in JFK when the cops come to get him in the theater. In short, she was doomed, and she knew it. Kind of makes her desperate pleas of mercy to Syl all the more saddening. :( P.S. Having seen the Letterman list and interviews, it is quite obvious that Drea is just acting when she is on the show. Her speech shows no trace of Adrianna and I hope she doesn't get typecast in the future. Hopefully she'll find a plump part in some indy movie in the future.:) Joey holds little hope I fear. |

Hell, if you want to get even deeper or to a point of stretching it you can look into the symbolism on the show, if there is any. (Like the bear=Tony and all that)
While the show has seen the riddance of some so called "rats", none have really gone out in a style of Adrianna. BigPussy went out like a man more or less, and even took it with dignity. Ade is another story. She started the fourth season as the woman we knew: sexually appealing and somewhat strong. After her getting caught by the FBI one could argue that she then began her transformation into a "rat". For most of season four and all of five, she was mostly seen scurrying around trying to get a crumb here and there for the FBI. Furthermore, her physical condition begins to deteriorate; she soon becomes a rather unsanitary being, beginning with her losing her lunch when she first gets caught and then developing IBS; even Christopher starts to refer to her as "my smelly Valentine." By the time she is whacked by Sylvio, she has completed her transformation into a true rat, as she squeals and squeaks while she is trapped and then scurries on all fours as she tries to evade her predator, kind of completing her metamorphosis. Just a thought! |
