She knew the entire ride that she was going to die and had accepted it. Her struggle at the very end was just a natural reaction....

Originally posted by JasonF By the way -- I just realized something: Benny Fazio (the guy on Tony's crew who beat Chrissy up during the intervention and beaten up by Gene Pontecorvo on the contruction site while Finn was watching) is played by Max Casella, who played Vinnie on Doogie Howser. |
I thought it was funny how clueless Adriana was about Islam: "He prays all the time!" and then when she was unknowingly describing a madrassah: "He runs a prep school for boys back in Pakistan!"
And then at the end the FBI decides to keep the murder due to the terror connection was also a funny touch. |
I missed it last night, due to the thunderstorms taking out my satellite signal, I finally got to see it tonight, and WOW, that was one hell of an episode, that was moving, disturbing. Its going to be torture waiting for the next episode.

Her struggle at the very end was just a natural reaction.... oh, and the cast was great doing the top 10 on letterman. "Christopher" had the best one at number 3. Drea looked incredibly hot too. And surprisingly...not dead. |
Originally posted by colossus My 2 cents here... I liked the money-counterpoint between Chris getting his $70K Hummer gassed up and watching The Mullet Family getting into their Citation...as we've seen over and over again, the prime motivation for every character in this show is selfishness. |
Excellent episode. I certainly hope this is setting up more fireworks for the finale!

I think Adrianna is still alive and living with the russian guy in the Pine Barrens

Could someone please tell me what Carmella wants to build on that land? I couldn't understand what she wants to build.
|
Did anybody else think that at the very end, when Tony gets that sad look on his face and has to sit down on the tree stump, and Carmela asks whats wrong, that he wanted to tell her someting like "Carm, you're never going to see Adrianna or my cousin Tony again".... I thought it would have been interesting if, after all these years, he finally started to fill her in on his "job" a little bit.
Has anyone else noticed that he hasn't been to see Dr. Melfi since the big discussion about his anger problems and the panic attack he had 17 years ago? Which is funny because everything with his job has been CRAZY lately... maybe being with Carmela is his new "therapy"? |
Originally posted by Shuki I too would have to agree that this will be Christopher's story from beginning to end. I think he will in fact off Tony S and assume the NJ side of things with Jonny saks blessing. Just my $.02 worth. Any definite word on when season 6 will begin airing? If something happened to Tony tomorrow, there would be a power vacuum. Sil could probably take the reins, but I just don't see him as the boss -- he's a consigliere; he lacks the fire needed to be boss. Paulie is a captain, but he's got the opposite problem of Sil -- he's too volatile, and I'm not sure he could get people to follow him. Tony's other Captains have a high mortality rate -- Big P might have made boss, but he's dead; same for Richie Aprille; same for Ralph Ciffaretto; same for Gigi Cestone. Maybe Ray Curto could step up -- we don't see him on the show too much. It would be interesting having a boss who was also an informant. And don't forget that Junior's still technically the boss, though I think he'd get taken out pretty quickly if there were a power struggle. Or maybe not -- maybe he could play all sides against the middle and wind up with some control. One thing's for sure -- if Tony died, the power struggle that resulted when Carmine died would look like Sunday dinner compared to the blood that would spill in New Jersey. |

Thank you Nefarious
I had no idea what she was talking about. |
Originally posted by Kaiser Soze Just looked on the HBO website, and the credits song was one by Shawn Smith - Wrapped in my memory. I really liked the song a lot. Anybody heard of him before? How's his other stuff? I'd like to check it out. |
Am I the only one that thought Carmella was looking especially good in this episode (particularly after looking so bad in the last few)?

Originally posted by Nefarious She wants to build a "spec" house. In other words, build the house w/o having a buyer already lined up. The spec. is for speculation because she's speculating there will be a buyer for it. Is Tony bankrolling the construction of the house also? He must really want to move home. That 40K she took from him is nothing now. |

Originally posted by TheDude He's the lead singer for the group 'Brad' (formerly featuring Stone Gossard of 'Pearl Jam'). When I heard the song over the ending/credits I knew that I knew the voice but I couldn't place it right away; about an hour later it hit me as I was looking through some CD's. I've got their first CD and really like it, but haven't heard anything else that they or he have done. Hope this helps. |
does anyone else think that the whole NY/NJ war will be settled one way or another during the season finale? It would seem weird that they'd leave us with a cliffhanger since they never really have before. And time always passes on the show between seasons due to the large gaps, so if something were to happen to one of the actors during the time off they'd really have to get creative to cover that up.

This episode was FANTASTIC. This is the Sopranos I LOVE... it's just too damn bad that this was episode 12 and not episode 3....maybe then Season 5 wouldn't have been so disappointing. I really think they stretched out far too much of this season....lots of filler to get to the meat... Season 6 and the finale are shaping up to be pretty intense though... after last week's complete waste of time, i'm glad to see the real Sopranos has finally returned.

I don't think that Adrianna knew she was gonna get snuffed till she saw trees all around her. I think she was just full of guilt and grief about what she got herself into and how it had affected Christopher. Remember she already saw him spiraling down over the whole chain of command thing and hitting the booze again.

That was a great episode. I really felt bad for Adrianna. I used to feel bad for Christopher, but not anymore. He's a, what Mr. Wu on Deadwood would say, "Cock SUCKA!!!"
It looks like war is definately gonna happen but I kinda get the idea it'll be Toby B wacked in the end and not Tony S When they showed Tony & Carmella looking through the lot with the trees, and the first shot being the grass and feet, for a second I thought and hoped Adrianna was somehow still alive. |
