West Wing 5/12/04

I will not cut the cord, but if the previews are any indication, this episode is going to suck hardcore. Then again, with NBC, a shitty preview often means a kickass episode ... I'm not holding my breath, though.

It's too bad they decided to "ER" this show, every week it's a life & death / worldwide calamity. Perhaps in the season finale, a helicopter will crash into the WH and rip Toby's arm off.

no real reason to keep this spoilered unless there's some info on the net I'm not aware of but I'll do it anyway
To be honest, the only male member of the staff that seems like they could have a decent relationship with someone is Charlie with what's his name that took Sam's place as a so-so second

The episode overall didn't suck as much as I thought it would but the soapbox got really old really quickly.
I did love Josh in the hospital. It's a sad sign when the doctor is less concerned about the patient than the staffer

donna may deserve better than josh (i disagree), but to do that would go against the plotlines that have been set up from day one. it's always been the case that those two are crazy for each other. IIRC, sorkin even said so, but he never got them together becuase he didn't want the show to turn into a soap opera-esque thing. he always said that as long as he was writing the show that josh and donna would never be a couple. well, now he's not writing the show anymore so we will have to see what happens from here.
as for the show tonight, i will miss fitz. i did like the character (and john amos), but since he was written out as chairman this season, he won't be as big of a hit story wise as andy or donna would have been.

I really enjoyed this episode, mostly because we haven't seen a real Donna episode before. It was nice to see her get a real beefy part instead of simply responding to Josh whenever he yells "Donna!!"
Hopefully they wont make this season finale into a cliffhanger, but we will just have to wait and see.

I really hate that they resort to killing off recurring characters I like instead of writing a good freaking story like they used to...when they had decent writers. Love of the first couple of seasons and love of the cast are the only reasons I keep watching. Now I'll never get to see Fitz banter with the president again - I loved the character, and needless to say the actor.
