West Wing 5/12/04

If they:

Spoiler:
Kill of donna in the motorcade

I'm going to be seriously upset.

Spoiler:
This such a strong character in this show that I don't think it would recover....plus she is cute. I'm hoping that maybe she just gets hurt (isn't that horrible? ) and it makes Josh understand the error of his ways and hook up

Kal-El 05-12-04 11:19 AM

I read on another site that
Spoiler:
Jason Isaacs(Lucius Malfoy, Tavington) is a guest star tonight as a possible love interest for Donna?
Is this true and has there been any build up to it the past few eps?

Red Dog 05-12-04 11:21 AM

I have a feeling these last episodes are really going to suck, even more than most of this season has sucked. Assuming they do, I will be cutting the cord on WW.

das Monkey 05-12-04 11:29 AM

I will not cut the cord, but if the previews are any indication, this episode is going to suck hardcore. Then again, with NBC, a shitty preview often means a kickass episode ... I'm not holding my breath, though.

das

the big train 05-12-04 11:50 AM

Spoiler:
They won't kill Donna. My money is on them killing Fitz.

which would be really :(

Meatpants 05-12-04 12:52 PM

It's too bad they decided to "ER" this show, every week it's a life & death / worldwide calamity. Perhaps in the season finale, a helicopter will crash into the WH and rip Toby's arm off.

bboisvert 05-12-04 01:00 PM

Ah, crap. Just cancel the damn thing and be done with it...

(I'm really wishing this season had never happened...)

retihsuhnt 05-12-04 03:03 PM

Okay all of you thinking that itll be
Spoiler:
Donna
that dies havent been paying attention to this season.

There are two (2) 'West Wing' characters on that trip. And it wont be
Spoiler:
Donna
that dies.

Bandoman 05-12-04 03:13 PM

I agree, retihsuhnt, I think that
Spoiler:
the V.P. will die, leaving room for Will to come back to work with Josh and Toby: watch the wackiness ensue!

retihsuhnt 05-12-04 04:40 PM

Now while I do not think that the character that Bandoman thinks will die, I do believe that
Spoiler:
Toby's wife
will.

the big train 05-12-04 07:28 PM

If
Spoiler:
Andie
dies and
Spoiler:
Toby ends up having to take care of the twins all the time
, I will admit that The West Wing sucks.

I still think it will be
Spoiler:
Fitzwallace
.

Is
Spoiler:
the V.P.
even going on the trip?

:)

mikehunt 05-12-04 08:36 PM

I kind of hate the going back and forth time wise
and even though the previews made me think
Spoiler:
Donna was going to die, as soon as I saw Fitz, who I had forgotten was getting sent, I figured he'd be the one from the west wing to die since he's not as big of a character. His character's position is way more important that Donna who is basically a secretary, and not in a cabinet sense of the word, but they don't use him much on the show since they focus on the west wing employees that didn't need senate approval

mikehunt 05-12-04 08:49 PM

it's Capistrano, the North Korean spy from an early season of JAG

mikehunt 05-12-04 09:03 PM

no real reason to keep this spoilered unless there's some info on the net I'm not aware of but I'll do it anyway
Spoiler:
Donna deserves better than Josh.
To be honest, the only male member of the staff that seems like they could have a decent relationship with someone is Charlie with what's his name that took Sam's place as a so-so second

Spoiler:
I figured Fitz was going to bite the bullet. I mean the actor does have his own show now so there's no real use in keeping the character around.

The episode overall didn't suck as much as I thought it would but the soapbox got really old really quickly.

I did love Josh in the hospital. It's a sad sign when the doctor is less concerned about the patient than the staffer

kevin75 05-12-04 09:08 PM

donna may deserve better than josh (i disagree), but to do that would go against the plotlines that have been set up from day one. it's always been the case that those two are crazy for each other. IIRC, sorkin even said so, but he never got them together becuase he didn't want the show to turn into a soap opera-esque thing. he always said that as long as he was writing the show that josh and donna would never be a couple. well, now he's not writing the show anymore so we will have to see what happens from here.

as for the show tonight, i will miss fitz. i did like the character (and john amos), but since he was written out as chairman this season, he won't be as big of a hit story wise as andy or donna would have been.

Tommy_Harn 05-12-04 10:35 PM

I guess Akeem is now the king of Zamunda.

dcprules 05-13-04 02:10 AM

I really enjoyed this episode, mostly because we haven't seen a real Donna episode before. It was nice to see her get a real beefy part instead of simply responding to Josh whenever he yells "Donna!!"

Hopefully they wont make this season finale into a cliffhanger, but we will just have to wait and see.

Bandoman 05-13-04 07:02 AM

I forgot that the VP wasn't on this trip, so my prediction wasn't possible. I knew they wouldn't kill off Donatella
Spoiler:
unless they do it next week, as the preview seemed to indicate a sudden decline in her medical condition. I think they're just going to jerk us aroiund, though, and leave us hanging until next season to see if Donna is okay.

Plus
Spoiler:
anyone notice that Donna was wearing her seatbelt and Fitz wasn't?

What do you know about Jason Isaacs that the rest of us don't? ;)

I thought last night was the season finale, alas they get to jerk us around for another week. I am SO sure Donna is going to die

WarriorPrincess 05-13-04 08:48 PM

I really hate that they resort to killing off recurring characters I like instead of writing a good freaking story like they used to...when they had decent writers. Love of the first couple of seasons and love of the cast are the only reasons I keep watching. Now I'll never get to see Fitz banter with the president again - I loved the character, and needless to say the actor. :(

not to hijack the thread but one of my favorite movie lines:

King Joffer walks into the barber shop...

Clarence: Hey, what's up, brother? You a little late for the Christmas pageant.
King Jaffe Joffer: I am King Jaffe Joffer, ruler of Zamunda.
Clarence: Have a seat. Chair number two will be ready in a second.
Saul: [touching the King's clothing, made from a stuffed tiger] This is beautiful. What is that? Velvet?
