I'm not sure even Swearingen would've jacked those two up like that.

Yeah he seemed a little unhappy about being stolen from and stabbed. What a baby.

That was pretty messed up that he would do that to a couple of kids. They did rob him, but shit killing them was a tad bit harsh don't ya think? I don't understand why Trixie went back to Swearingen at the end, maybe she likes her life of abuse and degredation.

I think he wanted to set a harsh example so anyone else thinking about stealing would think twice.

When you're in the whoring and gambling business, especially in a lawless territory, you have to be a little harsh when someone steals from you and/or your establishment to set an example that you won't put up with any monkey business.

You may have noticed all the townsfolk in the street when the brother sister team was getting beaten, nobody seemed to care too much.

The girl did stab him and was willing to kill if necessary. Her brother stated as much.

That scene was really disturbing. Especially the shots of her grabbing for the knife, but having so much head trauma that she couldn't even focus. These shows just aren't long enough.

What was really messed up was when he was telling the brother he should have been man enough to not listen to the sister. But an example had to be made and he made it.

Agreed. One of the more disturbing things I have seen on TV.

Good episode.

Darn right. I would watch four hour episodes if they had them. This show is getting better every week.

Not to crap on the thread but what is with all the swearing on Deadwood? In the parts that I have seen have had people swearing every other sentence. In just normal conversations, its F this and F that. I don't mind swearing in movies when it makes sense, but it seems Deadwood is swearing just for the sake of swearing.

That's how they supposedly talked back then.

The only problem I have with it is that, when I come into work Monday mornings, I want to call everyone in the office a ********** or a ************, or even a ******** ****.

Intense episode. Nice to see Cy is just as bad a motherf***er as Swearingen.

I love this show. It's the perfect follow-up to The Sopranos.

I really like the fact that for his veneer of civility, Cy is much like Swearengen, possibly a bit worse.

Intense, excellent stuff.

I think this episode showed the Cy is much worse than Swearengen. You can see the change in Al's character since Cy has come along. Swearengen seems to be trying to please the people and win them over.

The one thing I like is when a show reflects what was probably reality. When Cy first stepped onto the scene, he was scene as the anti-Swearington. A good guy, dapper dresser. The three main characters at the other place seemed like very good folk.

When we first saw this other side of Cy, I was taken aback a little bit. Like the writers cheated. But I realized it was my being used to seeing two dimensional characters... bad guys and good guys. And just like in Sopranos, the people are much more than that.
