That was pretty messed up that he would do that to a couple of kids. They did rob him, but shit killing them was a tad bit harsh don't ya think? I don't understand why Trixie went back to Swearingen at the end, maybe she likes her life of abuse and degredation.

You may have noticed all the townsfolk in the street when the brother sister team was getting beaten, nobody seemed to care too much.

That scene was really disturbing. Especially the shots of her grabbing for the knife, but having so much head trauma that she couldn't even focus. These shows just aren't long enough.

When you're in the whoring and gambling business, especially in a lawless territory, you have to be a little harsh when someone steals from you and/or your establishment to set an example that you won't put up with any monkey business.

Not to crap on the thread but what is with all the swearing on Deadwood? In the parts that I have seen have had people swearing every other sentence. In just normal conversations, its F this and F that. I don't mind swearing in movies when it makes sense, but it seems Deadwood is swearing just for the sake of swearing.

I think this episode showed the Cy is much worse than Swearengen. You can see the change in Al's character since Cy has come along. Swearengen seems to be trying to please the people and win them over.

The one thing I like is when a show reflects what was probably reality. When Cy first stepped onto the scene, he was scene as the anti-Swearington. A good guy, dapper dresser. The three main characters at the other place seemed like very good folk.
When we first saw this other side of Cy, I was taken aback a little bit. Like the writers cheated. But I realized it was my being used to seeing two dimensional characters... bad guys and good guys. And just like in Sopranos, the people are much more than that.

You can never have too many gimps.
