that was all about power. he couldn't stand that Janice was doing what he knows he should try to do. So he went into prick mode and showed that A) she was full of shit; and B) that he is in control.

It was kind of hard to watch, but another great episode....

and why do I care who Mike Figgis is? I thought the scene where
Spoiler:
the car ran over Toby B's foot after he whacked joey 2 episodes ago
also had a little pause effect in it....it was just strange.....but the Carmela scene was very "White Shadow."

So, is Tony stupid, or is he just delusional? I have a new perspective on his character after recently buying the first 4 seasons on DVD and watching them, along with this season. He has always treated everyone around him like dirt, but it seems like he is getting even more brazen about it. Even the people closest to him in the business, like Paulie and Christopher, never get any respect from him. Top it off with the way he went after Janice in this episode. Is he so blind to the people around him that he honestly thinks it's never going to come back and bite him?

It seems pretty apparent to me that the producers are setting him up to be taken out next year, probably by someone he considers close, like Christopher or maybe even Janice. She's crazy enough to just go off. There may end up being a line of people just waiting to get a shot in, the way it's going. It seems to me, especially in the business he's in, that you would want to breed loyalty in the people who work for you. But I don't think any of his captains would shed a tear if Tony was whacked, not even Sil.

I guess tonight's episode just annoyed me for some reason. Tony's always been a dick, but tonight, it just seemed like he went above and beyond the call, with the ragging on Janice and bugging Christopher about not drinking. This was the first time that, after an episode was over, I was actually looking forward to Tony's demise.

I think it was that guy that chris whacked in hte first season when they had the garbage dispute. Then he had all the nightmares about deli.

This show has fallen so far, I can't even find words to describe it...........episode 10 all about janice and anger management?

this entire season has been 10 random episodes with a minute or two of interesting plot lines........then they show the previews for next week as if the final 3 episodes are coming to some great climax......they have hardly even touched upon the war between families and now we are supposed to get all excited about it? where the hell have silvio and paulie been all season???

Why do you continue to watch it? Seriously. For example, when The X-Files took a nosedive in quality, in my opinion, I simply found something else to watch, I wasn't going to waste time watching something I didn't care for anymore.

That's why I wonder why people continue to watch shows that they no longer enjoy, you see it each week with the Sopranos threads and moreso with the Simpsons threads. Anyone care to comment why the continue to watch a show that they obviously no longer enjoy?

They've had elements regarding this in in just about every (if not all) episode(s). I think they have increased the level on the situation appropriately. It started out w/ minor incidents such as Christopher shooting his mouth off in the sit-down. The Tony S. has problems with Phil over the racetrack sale and Phil's car. Then Tony B. increases tensions by killing Peeps. Finally, Johnny starts taking it out on Tony S. financially with the "missing" scooters, etc. It's been building all season.

Pretty weak episode, I thought. Just didn't get Tony B. bein' all nice to Christopher, makin' up, etc., then totally tearing him apart in front of Tony S. But Christopher played it cool, maybe more along the lines of how Tony S. was saying it USED to be, smile, walk away, and then make sure they get it later...?
Still, I just don't want to hear about some old guy on an Apple Farm when there's still Adriana's dealing with the feds and Uncle Junior's dementia hanging out there...

Elements? Be honest, it is barely mentioned in most episodes. This season has been completely unfocused. It is actually worse than seadson four, which is hard. I can't believe that Janice is at the center of episode ten! Now we are supposed to get excited that the final three episodes are going to deal with the war between the families? I don't even believe that after the lousy final three from last year, especially that stinkbomb known as Whitecaps. I still watch the series out of habit and wanting to see how it ends. If I had not been hooked by the first two seasons I would never have become a viewer based on the crap unleashed this season.

i thought last night's episode was horrible.. to me, this season has had some really strong episodes, and some really bad ones. imo, this one stunk..

at the end when the music first came on, i said to myself, "that can't be it!" i don't have a clock in my HT room yet, but there was no way the hour could have been up, because nothing happened...

sure enough it was, as the credits came on the screen.. ugh..

janice flips, takes anger management, tony gets jealous, she flips again. tony b & chris dig up some remains, destroy what's left, and throw them in the water.. johnny sack stopped tony from getting some scooters..

tough hour...

and i, too, was wondering what the hell was going on with the carmella slow-mo scene.. awful!

Loved how Tony mangled the "Revenge is a dish best served cold" adage with "Revenge is like serving cold cuts".

Also enjoyed the tackle of Janice by the cop.

This felt like a season 1 Sopranos episode.

The dynamics of 3 people busting on one another never lasts for long without feelings get hurt.

What Tony did was so cruel and yet so hilarious at the same time.

Paulie is pretty much right. If you are around Tony Soprano, you should know better than to open your mouth and voice and opinion - it is almost like contributory negligence.

I think it was more to illustrate that things hadn't changed. Chris told Adrianna how when alone each of the Tony's was nice and great. When together they pick on Chris.

Chris was certainly gettin' pissed though

Does anyone else just want Johnny Sack to just blow up do whatever it is he's gonna do and get it over with? I mean for the longest time(a few seasons now) he been getting shit rubbed in his face over and over for this reason and that reason.

After reading your negative comments from week to week, I've come to believe that you do not understand what this show is about.

It is a FAMILY DRAMA where the main character just happens to be a mob boss and has two familes, one of which is the mafia.

Once you come to realize that, the episodes are much better. If I expected every episode to be Goodfellas, I'd be disappointed as well.

As a comedy, this episode worked for me.

i don't want them to rehash story lines, but i think if they got back to the roots the show would be awesome....the writing is just awful in seasons 4 and 5...the show is all over the place, loose ends, unfinished stories, silly plots that have no relevance.

I think Johnny and his maserati are going to come to a horrible end. the maserati is in the show too much for it not to be a major plot point.

With Tony B and Christopher holding shovels digging up the body, I thought one of them was going whack the other.

Sorry, that comment is in every single Sopranos thread and it just doesn't wash anymore.

With only 13 episodes after a 15 month hiatus, we expect compelling storylines. Nobody is looking for whackings and other violence every single week, but wasting entire episodes on Janice's tantrums, Vito's sexuality, and Tony's dead father's mistress is ridiculous. Yes, we know Tony has mother issues. Yes, we know Tony has impulse control issues. Yes, we know Tony is an a-hole just for the sake of it. This has been established since the very first episode. They introduced half a dozen major new characters this season and have done nothing with any of them except Tony B.
