The dropped Grandpa storyline was ridiculously bad writing... completely forgetting about Maggie was beyond unforgivable. The writers and animators have frequently forgotten to include Maggie even in the background of many episodes in the past two seasons. Unless someone can think of a gag to use her in, she is completely dropped from the episode.

Maggie should get her OWN episode which shows how she independently has her own adventures when the rest of the family takes off on a whack adventure and leaves her behind!

I think you may be expecting just a little too much form animated anarchist comedy.
