Actually, you had to feel a little bit sorry for all those bad guys who got shot guarding a transfer point for Saunders.
To have all those guys guarding that spot bought Saunders, what, 30 minutes of lead time?

How silly. Chappelle is killed because he was following the money trail, yet the money trail leads to an empty room so there was nothing to worry about. Even if there was something to worry about and even if Chappelle dies, obviously someone else would still follow up on his work. It would make more sense for Saunders to ask for Jack's body instead of Chappelle's body. Asking for Chappelle to be killed was typical 24 silliness.

Decent episode. One of the better ones this season. Then again, episodes where Kim does virtually nothing often turn out the best. Although Chappelle's death was pretty obvious, I liked how they handled him wanting to do it himself but not being able to. I also enjoyed a lot of the interaction at the hotel. Chappelle's death was classic 24 manipulation, so it was hard to get overly emotional about it, but the scenes with Dessler and the hotel guests were very effective.

damn...what an intense hour of television. no tv show has ever done that to me.
im not sure he was killed for following a money trail. there may be more to it, we dont know the whole stroy yet. however, if you are correct, i agree it would be a bit silly. still, pretty intense show tonight.

wow, I think we all knew it was coming, but wasn't really prepared to see it happen.
I like not having to wait a week to see the next episode.
Saunders hinted about being outside the US when the generic hired goon was talking about the vials to the different cities. I think he's probably in Mexico somewhere seeing how it would be hard to get to Canada that fast.

I think the real reason for it was to show the President who was in charge, and for Saunders to gauge just how much control he has over him.

Before people complain about my posts, let me say that I still enjoy some episodes of 24, despite the growing amount of silliness. In fact, I enjoyed this episode. It was just standard 24 manipulation, which they did much better last season when Mason died.
He already proved he was in control with the "sky is falling" line. If he wants the President to prove that he is willing something more drastic, how about killing Jack (who Saunders has personal issues with), Jack's daughter, Jack's partner, the President's brother, etc.
He clearly chose for Chappelle to die after seeing that Chappelle was looking into his finances. They showed them looking at the logs and then giving the order.

Great episode, and even kind of emotional. They have all been edge of your seats ones since the show got back from it's five week hiatius. It was quite tense.
Also nice to not have to wait seven days for the next one, just forty six more hours (I can hear the clock already ticking).

I'm not buying the whole suicide capsule bit. All they had to do is give the victims a powerful sedative and let them die in their sleep. The suicide capsules were over-kill.
Can you just see the uproar when the next-of-kin try to collect on the suicide victim's life insurance policies?

Two questions
1) What happened to Palmer's girlfriend? I haven't seen her in several eps and somewhere along the way I lost track of where she went too.
2) More of a theoretical/geek question... does anyone think Palmer would have a snowball's chance of getting reelected. The guy starts his career facing an assassination attempt, divorces his wife soon thereafter [under suspicious circumstances], a nuke goes off in Nv and now a biochem attack in Ca while giving in to terrorists demands...

I'm hoping that the virus outbreak turns the infected people into zombies. If not, I'll be greatly disappointed.
Seriously, a TV show following the "real time" format of 24, focusing on the first 24 hours of a zombie infestation, would be pretty damn cool.

From: a small cottage on a cul de sac in the lower pits of hell.
This was the second time they ended the show with the numbers counting to the end of the hour without the sound (the first time was after Mason's death).
I was convinced Jack was going to find a way to avoid shooting at the end. I should have known better.

I got the feeling Saunder's wasn't in the US either from the line "don't worry, we're safe." When one of his goons asked if the virus would spread outside the US. Definitly not in the building.
