Vaughn sure is taking this whole thing pretty well, he doesn't even really seem upset his wife is a traitor to him and everything he cares about.
I figured they weren't going to kill Sloane off, especially during some random episode, and I was positive that was the case when Lauren told her Mom they could continue without his meddling. LOL to Jack changing into his spy costume (black shirt, black jacket) before waking up Sloane. He is definitely one of the best dads on TV.

Oh yeah, I forgot one question.
How did Lauren's mom realize that the decoder was bogus? I'm sure she tried it but then in order to know it's fake, she'd have to know what the message would say, right? So how did she know?

Thanks in advance.

I had to juggle three shows last night:
Sopranos (watched live b/c of no commercials)
Alias (bedroom TiVo)
24 (den TiVo)

I got the impression that Jack was intending to let the CIA know that Sloane was innocent of the charges (as per his conversation with Syd) until the guy (who supposedly signed Sloane's pardon) showed up. It seemed to me that Jack had a funny look on his face when seeing him. Why I don't know. But if my memory is correct after that scene is when Jack goes to Sloane's cell with the wine and carries out his plan to stage Sloane's death.
For some reason it seemed to me that Jack's plan is somehow related to that guy or something he said. Did anyone else get that impression?

If I had to guess, I would speculate that Jack recognized the guy (who plays a Secret Service agent on 24, by the way) as part of the Trust. Maybe the Trust wanted Sloane dead for some reason?

I guess I'm the only person who didn't see the ending coming. Granted I didn't figure they would actually kill Sloan but i figured a nice jail break before all the poison got into his blood stream would be in order. I guess I've just been off all season because I originally assumed that Sloan was in league with the Covenant but they want him dead too. Syd really is the only person who wants Sloan taking up oxygen.
I too got the impression that SpyDaddy was all set to come clean until the pardon guy showed up. Guess we'll see where he fits into the whole scheme of things next week.
Anybody else think Sark needs to spend a little extra time in the training room? The monk dispensed of him pretty quickly during the fight. On the other hand, Sark blew a giant hole in his chest a payback so what can you do?

And agreed w/ B.A. about the slo-mo. That and the other technique they used last night (Dixon outlining the plan as we cut to it being enacted) are my favorite devices on the show.

David Carradine was great during that opening w/ Sark - too bad it was short-lived.

Could you tell me which Deftone song it was. It rocked and I was looking to pick it up. Thanks!

I finally watched this episode.
What I'd like to know is this-- Jack is a smart guy. He knows his wife was a KGB agent and an uber-liar. Why does he automatically assume, if Sydney has a half-sister, that the father has to be Sloan? Sloan was the only affair he knew about. But if my wife had been living a charade with me all those years, I would have assumed she'd have also been sleeping around quite a bit too.
I also thought it was funny in this episode, when Sydney was getting the Hourglass artifact, all the machine-gun toting "security guards" blasted away and destroyed all the other artifacts that place was holding.
Some security guards.
