That interview was great. Jon looked like he felt bad for ripping the guy, but I thought it was hilarious.

That guy's plane joke was pretty funny though.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.

Also, I loved the interview with Michael Moore. Jon seems much more comfortable talking politics with his guests than talking about whatever movie/tv show the guest is promoting.

Does anyone know where I could get a jpeg of that Clinton picture from last week-- the one that looked like the Annie Leibowitz photo of John & Yoko?

I am still laughing thinking about that.

I usually do other things when they do the taped segments but the one last night and Ed Helm's punk republican piece from a few nights ago were very funny

This is the second Moore interview I've seen this week and the word "softball" sure comes to mind with each.

They cut the best part of the Ed Helms piece (but showed it the night before on the preview):
Ed: Some people might say that a Republican punk is a moron.
Punk: You mean an oxymoron?
Ed: No, a moron.

Yeah it was a softball interview for Michael Moore, but it is around a 5 minute segment. Any significant arguments would have to be cut short anyway. Sometimes I wish Stewart would do a separate political show where he interviews people from both sides of an issue and moderates and butts in as well.

I find myself not paying attention whenever he has a actor or actress on, and much prefer the political interviews.

They've been doing this for a while, where the preview clip shown the day before doesn't appear in the actual piece. I'm guessing that they have to typically cut out at least a few good gags to get a piece down to the proper length. I think it's kinda cool when they do this; it's like a reward for staying with the show until after the last commercial break.

I agree that the celeb interviews are often just fluff, but the Kevin Kline interview was pretty damn funny, I thought. John kept digging himself a bigger and bigger hole, and Kevin played it perfectly.

I thought the Jennifer Love Hewitt interview was hilarious because Jon Stewart made fun of her stupid Garfield movie and JLH was too stupid to play along with his jokes. I haven't seen him make fun of anyone like that since the Spice Girls interview a few years back.

Usually Jon Stewart's banter is fun & good-natured but when he interacts with someone completely idiotic it seems like he is being mean (but in a funny way.)

I did not feel sorry for JLH at all because I think she just took herself and her movie way to seriously.

Who do you think the next big correspondent will be to come out of the show? Samantha Bee is my current fave, Jason Jones, her husband seems like a Rob Riggle type.

I think the new girl--Jessica Williams--has been pretty funny.

She's pretty good, and infinitely better than Olivia Munn (what were they thinking with her?)!
But my favorite new one right now is Kristen Schaal - she's not just funny looking, she's flat out funny!

Re: The Officially Unofficial Daily Show Thread

The Late Show with Colbert will have a Daily Show reunion with Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms, and some other people I assume tomorrow or Tues May 9, 2017.
