Apprentice 04/01

Ok, wanted to start the early so we can speculate who's gonna get kicked tonight.

My bet's on Troy, based solely on the fact that in the previews, the Donald goes, "You should've just kep your mouth shut" and I think Troy's the biggest blabbermouth among those left.

al_bundy 04-01-04 04:49 PM

I think the final episode is that trump is going to get fired. The company is hopelessly in debt and may not be able to make interest payments in a few months. I wonder if the donald can wiggle out of this one like he did the last time 10 years ago.

shanester 04-01-04 04:50 PM

I think it's Kwame he's the weakest of the remaining 5 (?) imo

Fok 04-01-04 05:03 PM

I hope its Kwame or Bill, those don't bring too much to the table.

Red Dog 04-01-04 05:48 PM

It has to be Kwame assuming his team loses. He has done squat.

Tafellappen 04-01-04 06:08 PM

I think it'll be Amy.

LBCrazyFool 04-01-04 06:16 PM

Nick...

My money is on Amy as well if the previews are any indication:
Spoiler:
it appears that Amy and Nick's relationship goes sour and Nick might turn on Amy but you can never can tell with those two.

Brain Stew 04-01-04 06:28 PM

I think it's
Spoiler:
Amy
because

Spoiler:
The synopsis on TVTome states: The final five candidates face off in the chic world of high-priced Manhattan real estate. A blossoming romance wilts and a star candidate falls from grace. So it's either Troy or Amy as they are the only two "star candidates."

PhYbEr 04-01-04 07:59 PM

umm.. am i missing something? 9:00 and I'm seeing nightly news w/ tom brokaw (and even he's not there) where's the apprentice?

found out: local atlanta ota hd is not showing it for some reason.. this has never happened before..

Derrich 04-01-04 08:24 PM

I'm calling foul right now! Right friggin' now, I'm calling foul! That was a bigger set up than the one that brought down Dillenger.

Yep. Just like the apartment contest.

ClarkKentKY 04-01-04 08:53 PM

The Audio Dubbing on this show has been driving me nuts for weeks. Everything Trump has said on the whole show has sounded patched together. I dont' think anything said in the boardroom tonight by trump was actually said IN the boardroom.

worrywort 04-01-04 08:54 PM

that was poorly edited

I think that's what it should have been.

Education is a lot, but he hasn't shown real skills so far.

Troy, while maybe not being chosen as the winner should have outlasted Kwame.

I think I would pick Bill, he seems the best all-around candidate to me.

briank 04-01-04 08:55 PM

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

........................Ponderosa is back next week.

briank 04-01-04 08:55 PM

Really didn't agree with the "setup" of the contest either.
Amy/Nick had it handed to them on a silver platter and got too "lucky".

ClarkKentKY 04-01-04 08:56 PM

Troy was my personal pick. I guess now it defaults down to Amy.

D'oh!Marosa

chrisih8u 04-01-04 08:56 PM

God damn Omerosa!

I hope next week's challenge is inflicitng the most amount of bodily harm to her.

silentbob007 04-01-04 09:00 PM

Omerosa's probably getting back on the show because she remembered to get a note from her doctor about her serious head injury ...

"Dear Mr. Trump,

Please excuse Omerosa from being a whiny baby who blamed everyone else for her mistakes. She sustained a retroactive head injury.

Sincerely,
Dr. Nick Riviera"

candyrocket786 04-01-04 09:01 PM

So..... because he has only a high school diploma, Troy doesn't get the job. bullshit!

Trelach24 04-01-04 09:06 PM

I think it'll come down to Kwame and Amy just because they're the "safe" picks.

I'm sure Donald isn't looking for some TV show contestants to triple his wealth. Just don't do anything to screw this up.

Brain Stew 04-01-04 09:09 PM

That and his skills aren't suited to be CEO, which is what this competition leads up to. That being said, I cannot view Kwame as a CEO. Bill slighty. To me, it's down to Nick & Amy.

Red Dog 04-01-04 09:09 PM

I hate to say it but 2 words: 'affirmative' and 'action.'

What a joke.

For anyone who has a Harvard MBA, the value of your degree keeps dropping each week this carbon blob escapes termination.

Oh well, at least Amber survived tonight's reality games.

Sernov 04-01-04 09:14 PM

Amy and Nick winning was such a setup, glad I'm not the only one that sees that.

I was pretty shocked when Troy picked Bill due to the Troy/Kwame friendship, but I believe Troy realized he was out regardless. He just had a better shot against Kwame, and he gets to go the distance with his friend by his side.

Next week looks interesting, two firings.... And two words? Oma-rosa? -ohbfrank-

I thought it was telling that Troy admitted earlier that the lack of education on his resume holds him back. It makes me wonder why he has never gone to night school or anything now that he has achieved some success. If he knows it hurts him and hasn't done anything about it, that doesn't say much about how driven he is to succeed.

taylor34 04-01-04 09:21 PM

All I can say is--Poor Bill. Two people get eliminated next week, and if Bill is saddled with a Kwamme, he'll get eliminated too, lol. The funny thing is, I could almost see Kwamme winning by some sort of dumb luck. If that happened, I'd never watch the show again, since they picked a guy that didn't do anything the entire show.

Taylor34

Red Dog 04-01-04 09:24 PM

The education angle is ridiculous. It is obvious that Trump will create a company that suits the skills of the Apprentice. Frankly, I don't what Kwame would excel at running except a fake autograph signing session.

One more note: Amy looks so much better with straight hair.

shanester 04-01-04 09:27 PM

I missed the previews for next weeks show??..Why the hell is the queen bitch coming back??

That penthouse was amzaing but why didn't anybody say "it looks even better at night with the city lights". I thaught that would have been an obvious selling point

The editing was also good again since we were left with the impression Nick/Amy only sold there's for $30k.

Did anybody find it odd that couple come backs to bid with like 2 minutes left. That was very supsicious. I wonder if that could have been a "plant" from the show. Boy what a scandal that would be

Overall good show and I was sad to see Troy go. Yes he was a loose cannon but I liked his personality and his friendhsip with Kwame was cool

So basically, Troy was gone from day one.

Maybe, I'm analyzing this show too much, but overall I thought decision pretty much indicated that someone w/o an "Institutionalized Education" is not qualified to run a company.

Hopefully, Troy will be successful in his future endeavors.

silentbob007 04-01-04 09:44 PM

Is an "institutionalized education" something received through correspondance at a prison?

gettinbranded 04-01-04 09:47 PM

Troys been on thin ice for a while. It didnt mean Kwame was better (I don't think he's shown that he is) -- it's just that of the two---Troy was more directly responsible for the last few losses than he was.

Trump can't see Troy running a company either -- so what does it matter whether it's now or later?

I think Ames really likes Nick---she was truly pained when he father mentioned his "women" problems. They'll probably be togather when the stress of the show is gone.

Ask Troy.......

That sounds like quite a logical reason, actually - he's just not qualified. Presumably, there's a lot more that goes into the job than being able to sweet talk people.

True...but then why put him through a 12-week interview if he is not qualified for the position in the first place?

My thought exactly. What more would someone with only a HS diploma have to proof that he is more worthy than someone with a Harvard MBA. Kwame got schooled by Troy - simple as that.

As I said before, Trump has probably not created the company yet. He will create one based on the talents of the person he chooses.

Trelach24 04-01-04 10:16 PM

You guys need to realize that they're showing us the stuff that makes for good TV. Whoever the winner is doesn't matter as much as the drama aspect of the show.

Kwame could be kicking everyone's ass and we would never know. But as long as Trump gets the best man or woman for the job in his eyes, AND the show is a hit, everything is a success.

Jeraden 04-01-04 10:22 PM

Troy is too much of a car salesman. Using questionable tactics and downright lying to people tonight at least. That was his undoing, it didn't really have much to do with education. If I had cars or appliances to sell, Troy would be on the top of my list. To be one of the leaders of a well-respected company? No.

zuckuss 04-01-04 10:25 PM

Wow, 2 minutes left and they magically get a bidder.

PATHETIC!!!

Barings 04-01-04 10:26 PM

I think Trump's point is strong financial analysis skills are required for the type of all types of businesses he engages in. It's clear that Troy, in spite of being a mortgage broker, could get Trump in some serious trouble if he didn't understand complexities of some PV calculations.

Of course, considering how leveraged Trump's casinos, he may have to sharpen his "artistry" of structuring a deal. There was a report on CNBC a few days ago saying that his gambling businesses have a lot of debt and his ownership in them could be reduced to a minority interest due to a lack of cash flow.

Nick is a snake oil salesman. Did anyone see him try to rent the penthouse or sell the bottled water? -rolleyes-

As for Kwame, he's a blank canvas. He's been flying under the radar. I haven't seen him do anything, much less anything dynamic or signicifant during his run on the show.

Bill is the most logical choice with Amy being a close second.
