Damn, the best fight thread got resurrected for that fight? So am I the only one who didn't like the fight? I think one thing I didn't like about the fight was it seemed so pointless. Tavon's been so poorly developed so I never would have expected him to act like that and the whole grudge between the 2 of them has felt so forced. I guess the fight would have felt more intense if I had felt any real emotion from either character. And it sure wasn't shot and executed well enough to stand alone as a great fight.

I didn't think it was a "great fight" it was a real fight. It looked like too guys pissed off and beating the junk out of each other. When Tavon (how do you spell it?) was walking out I figured something would happen to him.
The only thing I didn't like about this episode, aside from not enough of the hot chick from the decoy squad at the end, was the reporter...seems too much like the Lainey from the civilian review board thing.

Oh man. This episode was amazing. You can't get any more intense than that ending. I thought the fight was totally realistic. Best show on television right now.

No way Tavon survived. That dude got ****ed up flying out the windshield. And that was a very realistic fight to me. Fighting isn't pretty, it's brutal. When you see 2 grapplers in UFC, it's not pretty at all. I'm trying to figure out where all this pent up hostility from Shane is coming from. Must be totally wired with all the shit going on with the money, the baby, the strike team. I'm always surprised by this show. When you think you've seen their best poker hand, they pull something better from the deck.

Sometimes, actors known for playing straightarrow characters overdo it when walking on the wild side and try to look like Ramones roadies.
She looked just as sweet as she ever did. Her edge was internal.

The only ep I can remember more intense than this was the torture episode last year, with the electric stove eye.

This show just gets better and better. I love the dynamic between the two teams, and I loved their little competition. Unfortunately there was too much man ass, and not enough female ass. Still, it was a hilarious scene; the pole-dancing part especially had me rolling on the floor. I didn't watch the previews so I'm glad everyone kept it spoilered.
When Tavon got hit with that iron I thought he was going to pass out or die right in Shane's apartment. Did anyone else think Tavon was going to absolutely dominate that fight? I thought he would be tougher than that, but I thought it was definitely a realistic fight. Can't wait for next week.

He did dominate the fight. Shane had him for a while with the reverse choke but that was temporary since Tavon kept hammering the ribs to get him to release. After that it was all over....until 'she' showed up.

Another nod to the fight. This isn't The Matrix, and a perfectly staged balletic fight would be out of place.
Another great part of the episode: Claudette playing it dumb to get in good with the brother. Wonderful stuff.

With nearly every show going up in flames this season, it's great to see The Shield confidently strut across their ashes and remind everyone that they're the ****ing shit.

The last 5 minutes of last night's episode was off-the-hook. Whoever did the makeup on Tavon had a field day with him because he looked really f'ed up by the end of the fight and then when he was thrown through the windshield into the street.
The decoy squad's leader was a little to comfortable in his own skin.
Julien is one messed up cop with anger management issues.
"You complete me" LOL!

That's what I remembered as well - how pissed Shane was that the black basketball star was nailing a hot white piece of ass.
What a great episode, particularly those last 5 minutes. The amazingly realistic fight and the comedy relief of the streaking. Tavon has to be a corpse after that crash.
Even the side stories with Dutch and poisoning and Julian hit the mark.

Ya know, with so many TV and radio stations "toning it down" after the Super Bowl, it's great to see that FX hasn't backed off.
Think about it, if The Shield was on HBO, how much different would it be? Maybe a little more T'n'A, an F bomb or two, and no commercials. But I can't imagine the show being much different. My hat's off to FX for bringin' it every week.
Robert Forrester is one of my favorite actors, and I was glad he got on this show. Man, he had no shame when he lost the bet.
IMO, this is the best show on the air, bar none.

I worry about that to since it is certainly a more sexual-oriented show than The Shield. Nobody, at least in the FCC, seems to care about violence so The Shield should pretty much be safe from censorship, whether at the creative, network, or government level.

I was just glad Tavon didn't inadvertently hit Shane's pregnant fiancee during the melee. She was pretty efficient with an iron upside someone's head.

I kinda wanted to see him slug her, especially when she pretty much killed him.

In EW a review of the season premier they said the 5th episode this season was going to be a whopper; I think I'm more excited about next weeks episode than any episode of any TV show ever.

Awesome ep! I hope Tavon stays alive and transfers to the decoy squad or something. I really liked the fight scene and was really freaked out by how dazed Tavon was when he was leaving. That look on his face was really creepy. I swore he was going to go upside Mrs. Van Dammes head.
And naked!decoy squad leader had me in tears. He was great.
