What I liked about the episode was that it was a send-up of a bad sports movie, with all the cliches. The training montage, the bad music, the emotional breakdown, etc.

Originally posted by Abranut This is done (and has been done the past couple of seasons) so the crew can have a break during the production run. Making one show per week can be pretty exhausting work for everyone involved. Therefore, we make two episodes at the beginning of the season. They are numbered in order that they are made, not in the order in which they air. So 802 should air in a couple of weeks, while the SP crew get a few days off. It's summed up well in the FAQ section at SP's website: http://www.southparkstudios.com/show....html?id=15806 When the new episodes are first drawn out, they're given and episode number. Sometimes more work needs to be done on a certain episode so they have to move episode airdates around to compensate. The reason why they don't just change the episode number of the show is because it would get changed so often that it would become awfully confusing. |

I'm no TV expert but this Special Olympics episode was damn funny. Cartman struggling to win each event had me rolling.
In recent history, I also thoroughly enjoyed the South Park "Mormon" episode. I'm glad this show is still around. |

Originally posted by Abranut While that may be true in some cases, more often than not (and especially this season), it is exactly how I described it. Believe what you want to. Trust me. I know when my vacation is. :) |

Can't wait for The Passion of the Easter Bunny.

Southpark this season has rocked!

I can't believe I didn't watch the episode until Sunday night (Tivo rules). I can't believe I laughed at an episode mocking the special olympics. It's like I felt guilty, but I couldn't help it.
When Cartman shaved chunks of his hair off, I actually cried tears from laughing so hard. "Durrrr! Hey guys! What's going on? DUUURRRRR!" ... "Goddamn you." |
