lol I usually always watch the episodes with my parents, they don't get the show at all and thats half the fun in watching them.

A+ for tonight's show!!

South Park Rocks!!

my favorite part tonight was
Spoiler:
Cartman studying on how to be retarded by watching a Kid Rock video

thegame370 03-24-04 10:42 PM

What a great episode, watching Cartman make those faces was just too much! And having Timmy try and explain himself to Mr. Mackey(sp?) was hilarious!

MrX 03-24-04 11:21 PM

Great episode

Cartman was hilarious this episode. The part with him and his mom at the sign-in table killed me as did him still talking to Kyle about the Pasion Of The Christ.

Jimmy beating the crap out of his girlfriend was so wrong, yet so funnyrotfl

spainlinx0 03-24-04 11:59 PM

Yeah that Passion of the Christ fixation has to become a permanent Cartman character trait. There is just too much potential to rip on Kyle with it.

Matthew Chmiel 03-25-04 12:11 AM

"Don't you think you're better than me Timmy! I'm just living in the real world!"

necros 03-25-04 12:31 AM

They're on a roll so far. This was a great episode. The best part was how no one could understand Timmy except for Jimmy :) And of course... "Duuurrrrrr!"

whynotsmile 03-25-04 12:45 AM

oh man, cartman acting retarded....

i had this"talk" with my mom right now, where all this shit that built up between us came to a head. i was watching south park between yelling at her and i couldn't keep a straight face. too damn funny.

also loved chappel show tonight

MasterCXtreme 03-25-04 01:01 AM

Now that I think about it, since when are Timmy & Jimmy friends?

DieselsDen 03-25-04 02:15 AM

I agree with Abranut's sentiments. Though it may seem like bad taste to emphasize Jimmy and Timmy as being obviously handicapped, they aren't treated differently by the supporting cast of characters nor is their disability made fun of. (Well, it is, but everyone has been fair game in South Park.)

Also notice that in no other current show, cartoon or otherwise, are disabled people featured so prominently and allowed to be part of a cast of characters.

Bacon 03-25-04 02:17 AM

rotfl great episode, but I thought p**sy was a word that had to be bleeped

das Monkey 03-25-04 07:28 AM

Wow. I'm susprised everyone liked this. Granted South Park is often obvious, but this one was over-the-top on the preachy factor, and worse ... it just wasn't that funny. I liked when Jimmy beat up his girlfriend and mom, but the "Timmy tries to communicated with limited vocabulary" joke was beaten to death, and Cartman's retarded kid just said "DURRR." Overall, I guess I expected more. I did love the training montage, though.

Groucho 03-25-04 07:45 AM

There were some laughs, but the whole episode was predictable from beginning to end...I could see immediately where Cartman and Jimmy's storylines were going, and when they brought out the three baseball players, I knew we'd have some speech featuring close-ups (like they did in the Butters episode).

Cartman's newfound love of Mel Gibson is a great running gag.

Chew 03-25-04 07:54 AM

I agree with das and Groucho: a few laughs but pretty predictable. Far too many of the jokes were run into the ground.

The Cartman montage and faces

 and Scarface. Very funny episode. Cartman, Kyle, religion, and The Passion will never get old.

slop101 03-25-04 09:26 AM

I too agree w/ Das & Groucho - like I said, I don't find Timmy/Jimmy to be too funny. The Cartman stuff was fun, though.

The way they accused Mguire/Giambi/Bonds of doing steriod was the same exact joke from a couple years ago where they pointed the finger at people who were responsible for some deaths (Condit) but never came forward.

Giles 03-25-04 09:26 AM

very little offends me, but the episode kind of rubbed me in the wrong way, I personally did not find it as funny as others of you had. Some funny parts, but definately not the best of the new season.

mikewendt 03-25-04 10:24 AM

Funny episode... Cartman's retard montage was great. The Passion joke is great, and Jimmy beating up his girlfriend and mom was awsome!

"Making handicap people compete against each other for our amusement..."

"DUURRR DUUURRR... Bullseye."

dcprules 03-25-04 07:51 PM

That episode was brilliant. I loved all of Cartman's Mel Gibson references (the Braveheart poster in his room put a smile on my face). Still the favorite part of the epsiode, in my mind, has to be when Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire come up to give him award. That was utterly brilliant. South Park is on a role.

Next week's episode looks great, too. I have a feeling The Passion will be a new fixture on the show, like how Kenny used to get killed in every episode.

SPiRAL 03-26-04 01:32 AM

das , I agree, the training montage w/ the 80's inspirational music was great !!

Jobronie 03-26-04 06:15 AM

Finally got a chance to watch it last night. Kinda disappointing. Watchable, but guess I was expecting more.

Not worried, tho. This happened last season, IIRC. The first few eps were great, then there was a semi-clunker, followed by another few brilliant eps......

Considering this is the SECOND episode of season 8, it could only be the BEST or the WORST of the season so far...

BTW - something odd is happening. This was Episode 803 on www.southparkstudios.com - so episode 802 was never shown... wierd.

I never get tired of Timmy and Jimmy nor how they're handled.

I don't recall when they made up after "Crip Fight" (episode 503), but they are friends by episode 702 "Krazy Kripples" when they join the "Crips" together to kill some "Bloods".

I don't really think it was "beaten to death", maybe that's just me.

Deftones 03-26-04 10:38 AM

Not a great episode, but the part with Bonds, McGwire and Giambi was fantastic.

Jimmy also beating up his gilrfriend was pretty funny.

MrN 03-26-04 11:30 AM

Finally saw it last night - wasn't all that funny. I like the recurring Mel Gibson thing though - lets see how long they can keep it up.

This is done (and has been done the past couple of seasons) so the crew can have a break during the production run. Making one show per week can be pretty exhausting work for everyone involved. Therefore, we make two episodes at the beginning of the season. They are numbered in order that they are made, not in the order in which they air. So 802 should air in a couple of weeks, while the SP crew get a few days off.
