Richard Hatch on Letterman tonight-spoiler
I think if you saw the title of this thread you'd probably think, who cares if Richard Hatch is on Letterman tonight. Usually, Dave has the losers on anyway.
Well, tonight, while Dave is interviewing Anne Heche, Rich comes strolling out from behind Dave's "window" totally naked and it's pretty hilarious how in the middle of the interview, Anne Heche, just freaks out at seeing that naked fat guy.
She takes the surprise pretty well and I thought it was really funny. She looks good with long hair too.

So how much of the above was planned? Not a bit. Dave decided to conduct his own Survivor vote during the show, I guess. If he thought of it earlier in the day, none of us knew about it. Not till he actually left the stage did we think it would go this far. I pretty much knew Barbara wasn’t going to take the seat and I’m glad Paul pulled double-duty, performing as host and as musical director during his 3 minute stint. Dave appearing behind the window completely caught me off guard and I howled with laughter.
When we learned Richard Hatch was mad, we felt we needed to use him somewhere else in the show. It was suggested that he appear in the window behind Dave right after the ACT 4 Top Ten. And since he has a propensity to go unclothed, it was suggested that Mr. Hatch appear in the window in his nakedness. When it became apparent that Dave was going to do 2 segments with Anne Heche, thus eliminating the Top Ten, the plan was quickly altered to do it during the Close of the show. Seconds back from commercial, word comes that Richard Hatch should do it near the end of the Anne Heche segment. With much hustling to get things in order, the result is what you saw on the television at home. Did it turn out exactly as we all had pictured it in our mind? Probably not, but with no time to prepare we did the best we could. And I think most were satisfied with the result. Phew.
And yes, he really was totally nude.
