Hello, Newman.

I caught a tail end of a commercial on the radio about some TV show doing a piece about Wayne Knight(Newman on 'Seinfeld') regarding his recent dramatic weight loss.

Anyone know what show it is on? I figure it's on something like 20/20, Primetime, or 60 minutes, but checking their websites bring up nothing. I wanna see what skinny Newman looks like!

Several years ago, he lost a ton of weight, then gained it all back quickly and was fatter than ever. Unless he got The Surgery.

Ok I just saw the promo for it- it's on next week's 48 hours (IIRC)

Not that spectacular, he actually doesn't look that svelte. He's basically down to about Jason Alexander's size now, from the few promo shots they showed.

Anna Nicole's weight loss, that was utterly amazing.

Roker, Carnie Wilson, Randy Jackson, etc. I like how proud of themselves they are after losing weight through surgery. Why are they so proud? It's not like they did anything to lose weight. If they just changed their eating habits and lost 100 pounds that way, then they would have a reason to be proud.

I agree totally. I hate how these celebs flaunt themselves when all they really have to do is change their eating habits post operation since their stomachs are shrunk. It is definitely the easy way out.

BTW, was it ever revealed how much weight Anna Nicole lost? She said that she was going to reveal it on some show, but I have no idea what show or when.

It was on her show, she says she lost around 80 pounds (IIRC)

I don't really care what she 'reveals', she looks like she lost a lot more than 80 (i.e. she was way fatter than she's trying to claim she was)

I think the preview on 48 Hours said he did it the old fashion way...excercise and sensible diet. No Atkins or stomach surgeries.

I never thought I'd say this in a Wayne Knight thread, but it's useless without pics!

Why in the hell does it matter how someone loses weight, and what business is it of yours anyway? It's their life - not yours.

Because when you are a fan of a particular actor, you are interested in everything about them?

Because crowing about how proud you are about losing weight through surgery is like celebrating winning a 100meter dash against toddlers.

So that means you can attack them for losing weight by getting surgery? I don't see the logical connection. I agree, there are bigger problems in the world than being mad because someone else is happy they lost weight. If that's all you have to worry about then it's probably time to find a hobby.

IIRC, Carnie Wilson had her surgery broadcast live on the Internet, and I'm sure Al Roker had clips of his on the Today show. When the surgery is broadcast on TV or the Web where anyone can see it, becomes public, and the public then has the right to question it and/or comment about it. IMO

Oh yeah, that's exactly the same thing.

You couldn't have done anything on your own to strengthen your eyes, but a fat person can lose weight. Period.
Having your stomach stapled, or a gastric bypass, or gastric ring surgery is laziness.

As for Knight, I'm very happy he's healthy, regardless of the means.

Obviously you miss the point. They are both ridiculous to make any sort of a deal about. Like I said...there are human rights violations going on all over the world. Find something else to get pissed off about. Seriously this jealousy about how people alter their body is pathetic.
