Jealousy? Pissed off? Where did you get that from my posts? I am just not a fan of unnecessary, intrusive, major surgery just because someone is unwilling to do a few sit-ups.

Let's face it, dieting is HARD work. It's not just eating right for a day or a week, but over a period of months, consistently. It takes will power, determination and character to work your butt off to diet right, exercise and sticking with it. Having a Doctor take out most of your stomach so you eat less is VERY dangerous, and the fools way out. Jealous??? LOL, more like pity because of a lack of will and determination to work for their goals the traditional way.

The fools way out? I suppose that having surgery to remove a life threatening tumor a "fools way out" too.

Society demands that everyone looks like a supermodel, and now that people have found a way to do this through surgery, people like you still at them for daring to be thin just because they didn't do it "your way". Oh no. They didn't follow your edict, therefore they are fools.

Christ, there's just no pleasing some people.

A life threatening tumor is one thing, but stapling your stomach because you dont have the motivation to diet and exercise is another! Hell, if anything I am against this "we all have to look like supermodels". Losing weight is not just about looking good, but it's about establishing healthier habits and living a longer life. People who are overweight have a much higher risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and a plethora of other health problems. Not to say you are invulnerable if you are leaner, but having those better eating habits and exercising regularly will help lessen your chances of problems later on. You are totally missing my point.

So you think it's okay to perform a potentially life threatening procedure when there may be a simpler, less problematic way of doing it? In other words you want the quick fix even if there are major and unnecessary risks involved?

It's not hard work for me at all and I didn't have surgery. I can eat pretty much what I want, I eat about four meals a day, I run because I think it's fun not because I am trying to exercise, and I still have a lean and well worked out body. Are you angry because it just comes natural to me?

I think that just as it comes naturally to me there are some people who no matter what they do can't shed their obesity. It's foolish of you to think otherwise, especially, as it seems, you have no personal knowledge of dietics.

No matter what they do can't shed their obesity! LOL Now that's funny. You're true intelligence, or lack there of, is showing now. Losing weight is a matter of burning more calories than you consume, simple as that! The point I'm trying to make is that alot of people don't put forth the time and effort to work at it weight lose, and go for the quick fix with the stomach staple.

And here you are using your own personal example of how you "eat what you want", and exercise and don't have a weight problem. Well, not everybody is the same, and everybody has different metabolic rates. Who said anything about getting angry? If you're in good shape and eat like crap good for you! That is not my point, my point is that people who DO want to lose weight and be healthy should change their lifestyle, not just find the latest surgery or magic pill to change it. Because if you change lifestyle and make better decisions, that will yield better long term results. You're fatalistic attitude about "no matter what they do they can't shed their obesity" is a belief that enables people to think they can't have control over their body.

So what? Anyone can still lose weight. The reason I made that comment is because many people with your diet would have a greater chance of being obese.

You've still never sufficiently answered why it is that it bothers you so much what way people lose weight. I guess it's just because you think they are lazy? So what? Most Americans are lazy. I run three miles a day and still consider myself lazy. I like to sit on my ass. I like to drive my car three blocks to the store instead of walking there. Big deal. Why worry so much about how someone loses a few pounds? If they are healthier for it then all the better. If they are still lazy who gives a shit? There are bigger things to worry about.

That picture of newman is creepy. It's as if he's hiding all his fat up his butt and clenching it in before it spills out.

What bothers me the most is that people are willing to undergo a potentially harmful procedure to lose weight when there are in fact, more viable and safer solutions. Being lazy is a small part of the problem, but itsn't what bothers me the most. If society continues to adopt this mentality of the "quick fix", it can definately lead to greater problems down the road. But, that's just my opinion. I'm not losing sleep over it, but I question if people who want to lose weight actually give sensible eating and exercise a TRY before going under the knife. Eating right and exercise have been intregral in helping me stop bad habits, so naturally I feel people should exhaust those options throughoutly as they are tried and true for healthy living.
