um, Cap has been around since 1940 when he was created by Joe Simon.

Anyway, I thought it was just an 'ok' episode - some of the problems have already been mentioned.

Next week's episode,
Spoiler:
just looks awful, but might be hilarious

That show is actually starting to get good now!
Thanks for the

But, to help you get your facts straight. The Captain America comic book actually came out (Mar. 1941) before the US entered the war (Dec. 1941). So, it's completely feasible that these patriot boys had read about Cap.

I wondered the same thing. This lead me to believe that perhaps Angel didn't tell anyone that she died. But, then what did he tell them about where she went?

Just because they didn't discuss it on screen, doesn't mean it was never discussed. You don't know how much time has elapsed between episodes.

It's also possible that, kind of like the Connor situation, nobody except Angel remembers Cordelia coming back. The doctors at the hospital seemed to think that she'd never woken up.

Oh, I understand that. But, if Angel told everyone she had died - it would have been nice to see some kind of reaction from somebody.

If Angel told everyone that she went off to do her own thing (Wonder Woman: Vampire Hunter), they could have told us that so we weren't left wondering what they know about the situation.

This thought crossed my mind. But then what does that mean for everyone else.
Either A) None of them know Cordy ever existed. No way they did that one.
or B) The crew doesn't know Cordy woke up from the coma. But then, she's still dead. And Angel still should have told someone, which brings me back to my above comment.
Maybe C) Revised memories so that no one knows Cordy was in a coma, and everyone thinks she went off to be Wonder Woman.

The guy playing Lawson was an awful, awful actor.

I've seen better line delivery in pornos.

I thought the episode was OK. Next week looks pretty funny, even if it's a one-off type thing.

I like stand alone episodes as well as Arc episodes. I like Funny episodes as well as "dark, sci-fi" episodes. I like this show.

So there.

I am a fan.

After watching a few episodes from season 3 on dvd wow i forgot just how dark this show used to be man what a difference.
Yeah. Early season three was excellent. The first half is great. A shame that after Birthday (IMHO) it dived, when it could have just soared.

Another outstanding episode.

As much as I hate Spike (and I've been a hater since Buffy Season 5) he has been a welcome addition to the cast. As long as there is no mention of the dreaded Buffy, I'm happy to have him along for the ride.

The actor playing Lawson was really good as well. I liked his calmness and control.

As far as Cordy's death goes, I'd say that once again, their memories were wiped. And since she had been in a coma and out of their lives for so long, the news of her death would probably have been met with a resigned sigh, some reminiscing, and then just moved on. I didn't need to see it on screen.

However, I DO think the Connor erasure is going to come back to haunt them soon. There have been several references to him this season, so I assume they are keeping everyone up to speed on him until the inevitable fallout.

And next week's looks great. I just can't believe how much I am enjoying this show, after the absolute dreck of the last half of last season.

I think its interesting that fans of the show have such a wide range of opinions. Some hate the current season, some think the second half of s4 was garbage, some like the stand alone eps, some live for the season long arcs, most all hate dad...the diversity is really lovely. I'm not really feeling this season (while I still really enjoy the show, it hasn't really sucked me in like s2-s4 did). I agree with an earlier poster that Angel NEVER LEAVES THE OFFICE! They've also dropped the ball on the characters seemingly like a family, one of the things I liked most about the show. Hopefully the show will get one more guaranteed season before it goes the way of the dinosaur so Joss and Co. can send this show off with the bang it deserves (looking at the ratings I don't know if thats going to be possible, whats a good rating in terms of the WB?).

I did enjoy this ep though, but most of that can be attributed to Spike's great lines.

It was okay, at best.

As much as I hate Spike (and I've been a hater since Buffy Season 5) he has been a welcome addition to the cast. As long as there is no mention of the dreaded Buffy, I'm happy to have him along for the ride.
I, however, have been fine with Spike until he came onto Angel, as it seem even more contrived than when he was on Buffy.

The actor playing Lawson was really good as well. I liked his calmness and control.
See my post above - I thought he was one of the worst actors the show's ever had.

As far as Cordy's death goes, I'd say that once again, their memories were wiped. And since she had been in a coma and out of their lives for so long, the news of her death would probably have been met with a resigned sigh, some reminiscing, and then just moved on. I disagree because their memories of Conner were wiped by W&H. I don't see why their memories of Cordelia would be wiped by the PTB.

However, I DO think the Connor erasure is going to come back to haunt them soon. There have been several references to him this season, so I assume they are keeping everyone up to speed on him until the inevitable fallout.
This one's just a little iffy, because I don't think they're gonna bring back the actor who played Connor.

And next week's looks great. I just can't believe how much I am enjoying this show, after the absolute dreck of the last half of last season.
Next week's looks silly. And I thought the last half of last season was some of the best television I've ever seen.

I think that there is a much deeper meaning/context to this - Angel is now a "prisoner" of Wolfram & Hart. Pretty much where they wanted him.Perhaps he is being distracted as Wolfram & Hart plan other things without Angel's knowledge?

Well, to each their own I suppose. However, after witnessing the train wreck that was Cordelia, the shitty Connor, and the "whoops, let's fix the season" that was Jasmine, I will never be convinced that the back-half of season 4 was even GOOD television, let alone the best television I have ever seen.

One thing I'll add is that note that I said "inevitable fallout" not "the return of Connor." I think the actor may or may not be back. But I doubt that his story is over.

Damn you and your Ivy League education! Grrr! Otherwise good insight, you might be on to something, and if you aren't you should send mutan enemy a letter cause they should use your idea.

I also think (with my Ivy-League education) that this is also a plot point. The old "divide and conquer." By separating them into different departments, W&H has in effect lessened the strength of the group as a whole. Damn_lawyers!

I know how apprehensive people can be toward aintitcool, so I won't start a new thread for this, but I just read over there that Angel's been canceled.

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=17011

If this is true, I hope the writers have enough time to make a nice ending. So, should we still be hoping for the Firefly movie to get made or should we be hoping for an Angel or Buffy movie instead? Or an Andrew TV spinoff?

No, no, no. We've been through this. Justine was THE WORST actor they have EVER had on this show. EVER. And possibly the worst actor on any show. EVER.

And I thought this ep was okay. Next week's preview had me chuckling as well. We'll see.

Boo to the WB for cancelling this show. May you burn in Tarkna!
