I was annoying my fiancee last night because I kept calling him "Dylan"...LOL.

I wanted the first girl and Katie to make it through. Her performance last night (and her outfit tonight!) makes me a little sad to see her go!

Fantasia annoyed me, but as pointed out earlier in this thread, the judges seemed to hype her up - just like Ruben last year. I still think Clay shoulda won, but I'm not going to get into that again.....LOL.

Also, if Matt Dylan would have made it, I don't think I would have been too disappointed.

I'm already looking forward to next week's show!

well, Nell is dead so Fantasia is probably as skinny as she now too.

sadly, the show tonight failed to answer the important question:

how in the hell did they suck the juice out of that huge god damn thing on Fantasia's mouth.

my theory on how katie didnt make it:

first, mostly teenage girls and their moms call in to vote (if you arent one of them...i said most, not all)...i guarantee the moms gave diana a lot of votes (she has a great voice by the way) and metzger got the little teenie bopper girl votes.

im not sure too large a number of guys like us call in and that is why katie didnt make the cut.

fantasia made it because she is damned good! (by now you all know i think she is awesome)

Very surprised Metzger made it. I expected the top 3 to be Katie, Fantasia, and Diana. I'm glad to see Diana made it, but sad to see that Katie didnt. She'll be my Wild Card pick, unless one of the judges decide to bring her back.

I don't get it either. She's talented, but I don't see what it is that has the judges already naming her as the winner of the competition.

Simon or Paula said Fantasia didn't need AI to make it. Really? I got used to Macy Grey but I don't think I could get used to Fantasia's voice.

I'm glad Diana made it but I'm pissed that Fantasia is in and Katie is out.

Fantasia's voice is grating, she is fugly, she slurs her words, she's annoying to look at and listen to and she's way over confident.
How does this make her a "star" ?

And what was up with both of the winners singing the same song that they did the day before?

One of the things about the voting system on AI is that it can be downright frustrating when your personal faves don't make it, and if they get stuck in a tough group of 8, it's going to take a minor miracle to make it back to the wildcard show. I wish they'd give the fans the vote totals for Tuesday night, at least we'd get to see how close the vote was (or wasn't).

I would have been really surprised if Katie made it, since Diana and Fantasia both blew her away on Tuesday.

BUT, IIRC Clay Aiken came back as a wildcard after he lost out to Ruben and Kimberly Locke in his group of 8. (The final 3 contestant on last years show.)

They've always done it that way. No point in making all the contestants rehease multiple songs "just in case."

Wow! Well, I liked Fantasia the movie, but that's about it. I agree that the judges had a lot of sway on people's choices. If they hadn't hyped her up like that, no way would she have made it. She seems to "funk up" any song she sings, but can she play it straight? Seems doubtful. I got a feeling she won't last much longer.

I REALLY hope they change the voting system for the final 12, so you can't vote more than once. I know they won't, but it sure would be nice. How many of us here really think Ruben would have won last year had people only been able to vote once for their favorite contestant?

That's not technically feasable, even if they wanted to.

I'm sure they could make it where you can't vote for more than say 2 contestants from the same phone and same mobile text message. They could do it, but it would probably be very difficult to do so.
