Why doesn't SNL have any black women on the show now? Maya Rudolph is too light to be portraying every black female character. I thought the show was okay and really enjoyed the cab driver skit.

I think this week can be summed up as good impersonations trying to cover up for bad writing. All the impersonations are pretty good (the Democratic candidates, Oprah, Sharon Stone, etc), but they weren't enough to mask the fact that the material wasn't very funny (IMHO, of course!)

That Oprah skit was hilarious!!!!

Like Jadzia said, it was dead-on true. I had seen Oprah's "Favorite Things" holiday Episode 2 months ago, and that close-up of Amy Poehler (as a female audience member) on the verge of breaking into tears was laugh out funny. She was also good as Sharon Stone.

Loved the host, loved the show.

oh yeah the oprah sketch was great. kept getting funnier and funnier. i was expecting a person in the audience to pull out a gun and start shooting someone else but i guess that would have gone too far.

I think what's worse is how they just have the black guys play women now. Then again, that last black chick with the obnoxious voice really sucked.

All wrong. Clay Aiken is in fact the illegitimate son of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

Personally, I think Will & Grace is the worst show in the history of television.

But I must say, Megan was one of the best hosts SNL has had in recent memory. Very funny, great performances, and I never once noticed her reading from the cue cards.

If the monologue's joke was that the male singers in white tuxedos were gay....

...and Clay Aiken came out in the monologue in a white tuxedo then....

Was it just me, but was anyone else expecting them to have a "Wake Up Wakefield" sketch? In the last one (the Elijah Wood episode), they had Maya Rudolph's character lusting after Clay Aiken, and it seems a shame they didn't follow up on that infactuation with Clay Aiken there and all.

They dropped the ball on that. I think Wake Up Wakefield is one of their better skits. Clay would have been up for it, he seems to have a good sense of humor.

I agree. I thought it was a good show overall, but I was waiting for the Wake Up Wakefield sketch the whole time.

If Clay was willing to come out as a gay singer in the monologue, he should have been willing to do this.

They also dropped the ball on that when Adrien Brody hosted. Maya Rudolph's character had previously lusted after "Adrien Bu-rrr-rody" before and I expected him to do that skit. I still refer to him like she did as "Adrien Bu-rrr-ody".

Sometimes that works and is even funnier though, like when they did that Klymaxx skit.

So anyone know what happened to Richards?? I can't seem to find anything. The blurb in TvTome.com says that he's not on anymore as of February 7th, but nothing about whether he quit or was fired.

I would bet money he was fired... he was absoutely terrible... one of the least funny performers I've ever seen on the show.

The only funny thing I remember him doing was Bill O'Reilly. And I was surprised they only did that skit once.

Same here...

I loved his Busey Direct TV ad... (see my sig).
