Funniest episode all season. Brilliant. Danny Devito as a stripper = comedy gold. Monica's first kiss... tears in my eyes it was so funny.

For once, Joey's plot was the weakest of the bunch.

This was a very funny episode. Watching Monica and Ross's expression after learning the truth about the kiss was priceless. If the rest of the episodes are as good as this one, the final season will end with a bang.

Pretty good episode. Some very funny lines. And some pretty not so funny ones as well. Like everything Joey said.

A couple of questions and observations. How old are these characters supposed to be? Just curious. Also, no one wore their hair or dressed like Chandler in 1987. Unless they were just trying to point out how out of touch he was. Also, A Flock of Seagulls were big in 1982. And "Der Kommissar" was also released around that time. If they were trying to play songs/groups popular in 1987, they should have played the Cure ("Just Like Heaven") or Depeche Mode.

The whole monica fat jokes thing is just lame.
All fat people (in this case faux fat people) on sitcoms act like morons.

Regardless,
The monica first kiss bit was pretty dang funny.
And rachel's 80's attitude.

Agreed with the 1987 style seemed wrong.
And with the whole joey plotline. We get it, he is pretty dim.

I thought the Joey stuff was funny.

The 80's flashback was pretty funny. Rachel was hilarious. Also loved the Gellars reaction to the kiss,

Devito was funny but it got old pretty quick.

Devito's turn was disturbing, but fascinating to watch.

The Chandler/Monica/Ross/Rachel revelations were hysterically funny.

Great episode! Watching Monica and Rachel dancing to those 80's tunes were hella funny!

I guess that I am in the minority since I didn't really enjoy it. Didn't like the whole DeVito thing. Ok, we get it: Monica was fat, and Ross had bad hair and a mustache. How many times do we have to go back? At the beginning of the series, weren't we told that Rachel and Chandler had never met, or at least that they didn't really know each other? Now we have found out that they met a number of times.

The kiss thing was funny, but very obvious. The Joey thing was pretty good though.

Kudos to NBC for keeping DeVito a surprise, rather than putting him the promos ad-nauseum.

Along those lines, I hear something big happens next week too.

I actually wasn't being sarcastic this time. I had no idea DeVito was going to be on the show. I guess I was lucky and missed the ads.

It was just the way he delivered the line that was funny, not the line itself. He was so surprised he was coming up with all those answers.

Phoebe's line to the extent (not sure of the actual line) "I'm sorry did you say 'a man' or 'old man'." That was great.

I dunno, but I didnt' find last night's episode to be all that funny. There were a few moments where I chuckled (Rachel and Monica dancing was probably the funniest). The Danny DeVito appearance was more of a disturbance than comedy for me.

I wish Joey had come through at pyramid
granted I was only in 2nd grade in 87, but the 80s flashback did look more like early 80s than late 80s

Monica's reactions to the kiss was priceless although you could kinda see it coming that Ross kissed Monica instead of Rachel

Still, pretty funny episode.

I guess i'm in the minority too where I thought the funniest parts were Joey - it got kinda old but the first time he said "Ghost" I laughed

Was it just me or did it seem that the scenes with Devito didn't really transition well to the next scene? Usually Friends does a good job of tranitioning scenes, but it just felt awkward. They could've done more with Danny, so I wasn't impressed.

Good to see Nichole from Old School though

I must agree that their amalgamation of the 80s for the flashbacks is a tad annoying....they have flock of seagulls from 82, the don Johnson look from 84, etc...and it's supposed to be 1987. Having been a senior in High School in 87 I can definately attest to the complete 80sness of that year, but there's no need to insult us by including things that were way over by then. Bangs and shoulder pads will suffice for the ladies, verticle stripes and skinny ties for the fellas.

That said, the episode was hilarious, and I just loved Aniston's job with the 80s stuff...she was perfect - and you could tell that's probably an awful lot of fun for them. And I don't know what it is, but Monica dancing in the fat suit cracks me up as much as anything on the show ever has.....much like the one episode that had a similar epilogue a few years ago. good stuff.

strangely, Joey was the weakest part of the show this week.....but I guess he needed a break from carrying everyone. It did make me even more leery of the spin-off seeing him away from everyone though.....they better not go overboard like that with the dimwitted routines...

I agree that the flashbacks are a tired premise. My first reaction was to roll my eyes at the hair and the fat suit, but the writing was funny and the kiss story was't bad. Especially since I can't stand the Gellars

Didn't your mama ever tell you what happens when Groucho cries wolf? Your credibility is shot, big guy.
