I actually enjoyed the ep quite a bit. It was a good change of pace from everything that had been going on between Angel and Spike. I've enjoyed watching Harmony's goofiness all season, so it was kind of neat to see it take center stage for once.

More than anything it was nice just to have a new ep to watch.

I thought it was on OK episode. The chopsticks fight did have me laughing as well.

I just have a question about the vampire's in the Buffy/Angel universe. I assume they don't have a pulse right? Blood doesn't travel through their bodies? So how do they get drunk? I guess I'm just thinking too much.

Did no one pick up on the companies mentioned in the opening bit? WH represents News Corp and Weyland-Yutani?

Angel shares a universe with Alien and Predator. Now if we could only get Arnold to guest for an episode.

I know she doesn't have a soul, yet. I can see her bumbling her way into one.

They're giving them out these days in the Buffy-verse, you know.

Good episode.

Im thinking that maybe that Harmony actually has a soul. (Who knows where she got it). Think about it, has there ever been a vampire with no soul with such control? I dont think so, Spike had a chip to keep him in line and Angel wasnt 'good' until he got his soul. There is something fishy about Harmony.

I loved this episode. The screaming clan languages was a little annoying at times but I liked the pace of the episode and it was a nice re-intro back into the angel universe.
@ the chopsticks fight.

You know -- regarding the "soul" thing -- I was recently re-watching "Fool For Love" and it occurred to me that, out of Angel's old gang, three of the four vampires had had some kind of drastic, (un)life-altering experience.

- Angel was cursed by Gypsies and had his soul restored.

- Spike was chipped by the Initiative and later voluntarily had his soul restored.

- Darla was staked by Angel, resurrected as a human by Wolfram and Hart, revamped by Dru, impregnated by Angel, and sort of gained a soul through the pregnancy. She staked herself rather than lose the soul/baby.

Sort of makes me wonder if something big won't be happening to Dru at some point.

According to the Buffyverse vampire mythology, when someone is vamped, they retain the same personality and character traits. They simply no longer have a conscience.

Well, Harmony was always a heartless, soulless beotch when she was human, so it stands to reason she wouldn't be too different as a vampire. Her sudden self-control is due to Angel's zero tolerance policy. Well, that and she realized she sucked at being evil.

Anyone know the song that played at the start of the episode when Harmony was waking up?

The song was "Hey Sailor" by The Detroit Cobras.

And I loved this episode too. Harmony has always been one of my favorite Jossverse characters (all versions of her), so I was happy to get an episode from her POV and getting a glimpse of her inner life.

I figure their blood still circulates, only via magic and not from their heart pumping.

HOWEVER, thanks WB for spoiling the 100th episode casting surprise for me!
I think when it reaches the point where they're actively advertising this appearance, it's not really meant to be a surprise. Kinda like how they advertised Faith a lot before "Salvage" aired last year.

Really, there's quite a few little nitpicks one could make about the way vampires are handled.

- Wouldn't their blood clot if it weren't being pumped?
- Why do their clothes dust when they're dusted.
- How come sometimes the thing used to dust them disappears with them, and sometimes not?
- Why don't their clothes cast a reflection?
- If they don't have to breathe, then why do we see them out of breathe sometimes, or even being affected by choking?

Etc, etc.

Loved the video in the opening

I've never been a big Harmony fan but this wasn't that bad.

I didn't buy Spike's reason for not going to see Buffy. I wonder if that would have been written differently had SMG decided to guest star.

This ep reminded me one that featured Xander on Buffy. Anyways it was fun, but this deep into the season I want to get the meat of this season. It does make sense to have a breather ep since the show has been gone for so long. I'm just ready for this seasons arc to get going.

I liked it. Harmony reminded me of early Cordy (which makes sense since they were in the same crowd in H.S.). It was funny how Cordy character morphed into , well , whatever it was that Cordy's character became

{sidebar: My theory is that hte writers screwed up her character so badly, ie: being a higher power, having sex with connor, etc... that they had no way of recovering from it, so they put her in a coma! }

and Harmony basically stayed they same. I though her one-liners were funny and well placed , fo r some reason when she dropped the body down the chute and said "Oh Crapola" I just busted out laughing. Her fight scene at the end was amusing as well. Made me miss the old Cordy .

Too bad no Lindsey, but it's just like Whedon to throw in a comical episode right in the middle of a cliff hanger!

Thumbs up from Doug!

I would have preferred a 'pick up where we left off' kind of episode since they left us at a big reveal, but I still enjoyed the focus on 'Harmonica.'

Best moments - the chopstick fight and the repeated 'put them in the closet.' They should have probably used the 'unhuman' joke just once in the episode.

Ok, can't wait to get back to the main story...

yeah i didn't think this ep was in the right place, we've waited long enough since the last ep, we should have a story arc episode not this filler!

Was ok but disappointed
