Episode Title: "It's Christmas in Canada"
I was really hoping they would of gone back to the drawing board on this one and churned out a Saddam episode (even though it was only a couple days ago!)

The Brovlofski family is dealt a devastating blow when Ike's Canadian birth parents show up unexpectedly and want their baby back. When the townspeople decide to forego Christmas gifts and take up a collection to get Ike home to South Park, the boys are distraught. Before all the money for their Christmas presents gets spent, they hightail it to Canada to bring Ike home themselves.

I still wouldn't put it past them. I still can't believe how fast they cranked out the Elian Gonzalez spoof episode.

Yeah I was expecting a Saddam episode as well. I suppose it could be done still, all those previews get sent out a week ahead of time. They could shelve the Christmas episode for next easily.

Great episode. I called Saddam being the PM, once there was the whole mystery aspect. And I'm kind of glad they brought back the Kenny killing, it was a great death anyway.

I never cease to be amazed by how fast they can crank out an episode, and still make it drop dead hilarious.
For contrast, how long do you suppose it takes to write a "Becker" script?

My guess is that they had the episode in the can (there were always 8 episodes for this run, and this was #8). It is a Christmas episode, and most of it probably didn't change.
After Saddam was captured they probably went to Comedy Central and told them they wanted to redo the ending. Switch out villans, change the ending music a bit, and viola!
My guess is that the original ending involved Terrance And Phillip, who didn't appear for whatever odd reason.
Damn good episode...great ending!

My thinking exactly. Hopefully the original ending will be a DVD extra in the future.
Even though it's frustrating to get so few new episodes with each batch, the upside is that Trey and Matt have the time to write quality instead of quantity.

Ahh, wonderfulness.
They must have a lot of Canadians on their staff in order to get some of those caricatures so nailed down. The newf was great. Loved him wearing his cod coat the whole time.

I think the best part of Canadians is the square wheels. I was rolling when they showed the old-school highwheel with a giant square wheel.
I was expecting Kyle to one-punch Cartman and knock him out at the end (that's their style), so when he cried like a baby, it was still a good surprise and a great payoff.
