Anyway, I'm not ashamed to say that I watched every single episode (along with both Joe Millionaire shows and every Bachelor and the Bachelorette). I think I just watch these shows because I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Unfortunately, I didn't think tonight's show had a happy ending.

I, along with most of the country probably, was rooting for Adam. Like others have said, though, we shouldn't feel too bad for him because he won't have any problems getting any dates now.

Jason didn't seem nearly as sincere as Melana made him out to be. He also seemed to lack personality.

If this were ABC, I'd say Adam might be in line to be the next Bachelor, but I guess that's not going to happen.

Not that we watch a whole lot of them but my wife has sworn off reality shows just because of the ending of this show.

He'd be a hell of a lot better than Fat Bob, that's for sure. I could not understand why women were so ga-ga for Fat Bob. He was not rich, not all that attractive and he was not funny, which was supposedly the reason why women in America loved him.

I'm sure NBC has some kind of exclusivity agreement with the participants on AJ, so you're right that it probably won't happen.



I think this sums it up rather nicely. All this show did was validate what we all know already. I find it pretty funny that people are upset because the fairy tale ending did not take place. Again the 2 operative words here are 'fairy' and 'tale.'

During the course of the show I was mezmorized by the kindness and honesty that you possesed. Your smile can light up a room from a millions miles away.It was so nice to see that a nice man still existed in this crazy world. Even at the end when for whatever reason she chose the "ken doll" you were still a perfect gentle man. Even though I have only seen you on the tv and we have never met, I would do anything to actually meet you. well, i must say that during the course of the show it was nice to see that there are still nice guys in the world. i was cheering for you the whole time and was so disappointed to see the end results. i never really got into the reality shows but, i enjoyed this one. i'm sure that with this newfound fame your life has been turned upside down and your love life will never be the same now that the world has gotten a chance to see the real you. i wish you the best of luck and just want you to know that nice guys don't always finish last...you just have to find that one that really can see you for the wonderful, funny person that you really are.

Also, they had Adam on the phone on the Today show and he says he has a girlfriend now.

I only watched the finale - and it was, LIKE, an utterly predictable piece of poop. The next one looks even worse - I'll pass.

Kelly Ripa was pretty funny in her analysis this morning. Pick the millionaire. He could have work done. He could have A LOT OF WORK DONE!

The contrast between Adam's Rocky training segment and Jason's lounging around in the pool was classic!

Adam's obsession with Rocky made me wonder if he is a former member of DVDTalk.

In the other thread, a couple posters claimed to have "inside information":

One claimed that Malena had to choose one of the original Joes at the end.

Another claimed that she chose Adam, but that they are no longer together.

WHOOPS!

I am glad that she picked Jason. Mainly, for all my fellow good looking guys out there that people assume have no personality. He was a cool guy that seemed genuine.

Also, Melana would have to accpet Adam's life. It would be harder than you think. Even though he is a millionaire, his life is pretty set (wall street trader and bar owner). He is less likely to change his lifestyle.

On the other hand, Jason is in school and still hasn't determined where he will go or what he will do.

Whether or not her decision seems good/bad, right/wrong....
WHAT THE HELL WAS THE POINT OF THIS SHOW ?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

NBC execs: "Ok, all you average guys out there!! Here's your chance to be w/ a super hot babe!!!! Are you all excited now? Are you all rooting for your favorite "average joe"? Average Joes... are you feeling confident? Do you feel like you might actually "get the girl"? Great!!!
Oh.. one last thing... here's a bunch of hot studs that you'll now be competing against for the hot babe! We could basically end the show now, b/c it's really just a matter of her narrowing down which hot guy she wants, but that would be too simple. We think we'd get much more/better ratings if we drag this out and in the process humiliate and torture you average suckers!!! "

I mean, seriously, you put a bunch of average guys up against even a few "studs", the hot babe is most definitely gonna figure out something about at least ONE of the studs that's worth liking and choose him.

Talk about rubbing it in the nose of every average guy in America!! What were the people at NBC trying to prove, that people tend to stick to their own kind?

I'm sorry, it really pissed me off is all! Not that she chose Jason over Adam. I could care less. She's human, she went where she thought the "good stuff" was.

What I'm pissed about, is the whole thing about bringing in the good looking guys. You know everyone is gonna be rooting for the average guy, but all the rooting becomes sorta futile when the studs come sauntering in w/ all their tanned machismo (can anyone else smell the bitterness )

Like one of the previous posters said, she'll find a way to justify liking a hot guy.

So given all this, what's the point of airing a 2nd season of this crap?!?!?!? This new girl seems even more stuck up and caught up on herself.

I was a bit shocked that Melana didn't pick Adam. Isn't the show called 'Average Joe'? What a shocking end to the show.

I haven't watched the finale yet. I'm surprised Adam wasn't picked, but obviously since I've been looking in the threads before watching the show, I don't really care what the outcome is. Like everyone's saying, win or lose Adam comes out smelling like a rose after this show. I think it was a pretty dumb move to already get a girlfriend before the show was finished

I agree that the show was pretty pointless, but it was still fun to watch. I hope they don't bring the ringers in the second one, but I'm sure they will. I didn't think it added anything to the show. It caused Melena to piss of Adam and Zach because she went on dates with the new guys instead of them. By the end of the show she didn't spend much time with any of them because she was trying to give everyone equal time. I'd rather that they have the next one go through the first rounds a little slower and skip bringing in the new guys. I guess I'll just fast forward through much of the finale. Sounds like it was pretty dull.

I think they should do a "celebrity" edition of this show. Get the type of people they put on Star Dates. I do hope they try Average Jane at some point. This first one was worth it just for the fat suit

Not only are there ringers, but there are even more of them this time (it looked like six). It also looks like they bring in the ringers earlier this time, and there is fighting between the "Studs" and the "Joes" (this time around they bonded pretty well).

They're there. And judging by the clips, there are more of them and they all look like bodybuilders.

After seeing the previews for AJ2 I have a question for the producers: Is the average joe really 250 lbs, balding, and trying to look like a brunette CarrotTop???

I am very happy that Melana chose Jason over Adam. They make an awesome couple. I don't understand why people are so angry that she chose Jason. Despite his looks, Jason is more of an "average joe" compared to Adam. To me, millionaires are not "average."

I kind of gathered when they did this that Adam would lose. I mean, as moving as Rocky is with regards to the underdog getting his shot, the guy doesn't win in the end. He goes the distance, but in the end, the champ (or pretty boy if you will) remains champ by a split decision.

I don't know. Average Joe 2 looks cruel with both the woman and non-average Joes.

I felt just the opposite. Malena had that girl-next-door look to me, (albeit a very hot girl-next-door), while the new girl has that hot centerfold look. Either way, I will be watching. The cringe factor is just too high for me not to.
