How's the transfer on the special edition? My original DVD looks very grainy, but is still entirely great to watch. I love this movie!

Widescreen would be reason enough for me to get it. Although I haven't bought either version.

I'll watchi this prob about 50 times. Saw it last night, and I think it's the second time I've caught it on tv already. I have the new se on my christmas list, although I'm not sure why, with it being on tv every 5 minutes..

That lamp is sooo nice, but a bit to much, for a laugh.

I watched it on TMC last year too. They only showed it once, but I'm sure they plan on showing it every year.

I'll probably still buy the DVD though because I want the commentary and the picture quality will certainly be better than digital cable. A Christmas Story is definitely my favorite holiday movie, but I usually make sure to watch Scrooged, and It's a Wonderful Life also.
