Ever since I got ReplayTV (similar to Tivo for those who don't know) I watch more and more TV. I even bought a second one cause of the new features and to eliminate show conflicts. But how much TV is too much? At least I save time by not having to watch commericals.

Dude, that's only 16 shows. What do you do with all of your free time?

That's easier because they are weekly. I watch shows that come on daily like a soap and a tech show as well as programs on HGTV which come on several times a day. It easily fills up hours of a day before including sitcoms, Ed, and whatnot.

Angel, Gilmore Girls, Nip/Tuck, South Park, Dead Like Me (Showtime), West Wing reruns (I'm watching them for the first time), The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Show

There's lots of other good stuff on, but those are most of my recent favorites.

If you have to think more than a coupla seconds whether to have sex or watch TV…

though, if your list wasn't comprised entirely of "reality" show, you're probably not watching anything..

What's funny is how much tv some of you watch and yet you're on a DVD forum. How could you possibly find time for DVDs?

I'm not sure how many shows I watch or even how many hours of TV I watch. Right now, my TV isn't even on. Oh.. the Horror!

I like DVD's. I have a small collection but I'm not a fanatic like some others-- here not that there's anything wrong with that. I prefer TV to DVD and when you have premium channels why spend money on DVD's?

These are the only ones we make a point to watch. If surfing I like L&O, The Nanny, ER, history channel, Discovery Wings, quite frankly a lot, but I don't make it a point.

Now that I'm kind of a stay-at-home mom (teach online), I watch more tv than ever just because I like to have the tv while at home to keep me company. Gotta love the SoapNet 80's soap reruns! :P

I usually channel surf. I make a point to watch Worlds Apart. I usually watch Thursday's WB line-up, though I don't care if I miss it.

If I had TIVO or something similar I might watch more TV, but I don't so I don't. I watch about 3 hours of TV a night if I'm home(including DVDs) -- but much of it is channel surfing...

You need some WB shows: Everwood, Angel, Gilmore Girls

I had an old roommate that dropped out his junior year of college when he got a Tivo and his grades began to immediately plummet.

Me, I only watch 24 and Angel. And sometimes Tru Calling if I have absolutely nothing better to do.

I just cancelled both my Directv and Tivo service, not only because I'll be $60 per month richer, but I'll also gain 2-3 hours per day for things like reading, writing, and spending time with my family. I'm not giving tv up--I'll still have snowy CBS and dvd's, but I'm getting rid of a lot of the temptation.

Too much TV? Too much TV is a marathon of Suddenly Susan, Veronica's Closet, Caroline in the City and Union Station.

Ok first, this might not be the best place to ask whether or not you're watching too much TV. We're all addicts too so nobody's going to tell you turn off the tube.

I watch 10 weekly shows, 2 daily shows (well they're daily when ESPN decides not to preempt them with golf) and 2 cable shows (S&TC and 6FU are weekly but since they don't air during the regular fall schedule I count them differntly). Is that too much? Some might say yes. Others around here probably watch more than that.

I still get all my work done and have time to watch DVDs and periodically take a walk outside (when it's not freezing cold) so I think I'm doing good.

Jadzia's right though, you gotta add some WB to your TV diet. Gilmore Girls all the way! You're staying away from UPN so that's good but the reality shows? tisk tisk.

You watch too much TV when you spend over 5 hours a day watching TV and another 2 hours posting your opinions of those shows on internet boards.
