According to that yahoo article linked above:

Sophomore drama "Boomtown," which has trailed the competition in the 10-11 p.m. slot, is going on a three-week hiatus.
So perhaps it is not cancelled?

When your lead in is Dateline what did they expect. Really too bad another good show goes down.

This sucks if it's cancelled.

It's great if it gets moved to a different night.

Friday night is a terrible night for TV. Who wants to stay home and watch TV friday nights? I'd love for it to go back to Sunday night, when I don't usually have anything better to do.

I loved it being on Friday night. There were no conflicts for recording. I've woken up the last 2 Saturday mornings hungover and watched it. NBC got spoiled by what SVU did there.

I should have prefaced my comments by saying that I don't have (nor have room in my budget to buy) a Tivo or VCR.

The VCR was my ex fiancee's, and she took it with her obviously. I had a Tivo I won in a contest a couple years ago, but the modem got fried and they wanted too much to fix it.

I'd love another Tivo, but given the small amount of TV I watch (non-sports TV anyway and I usually watch sports at friends or sports bars) I just can't justify the cash.

See I like Sundays to be free of shows I like because of, particularly this month, sports.

I don't mind sunday night shows. I'm not a huge NFL fan (mainly just watch the Raiders) and ESPN doesn't seem to have very intriguing matchups in their sunday night games very often.

I hate Friday nights, as I almost always have plans (though I've managed to be home for the first 2 episoded of Boomtown). I'll miss it this week though, as I'm going to a party. Oh well.

You know you can 'rent' DVR boxes through many cable companies for like $5/month. Yeah, they are not as good as Replay-TV or TIVO but they would come in handy.

Yeah, I need to look into that. I saw a comcast ad on TV for that the other day, I've been meaning to check and see if it's available in my area. Thanks for the (unintentional) reminder.

Law & Order: SVU and The X-Files are the only shows that had much success on Friday nights.

I just hope it is a hiatus and not a cancellation.

This makes me sick to my stomach (not really that bad, but just makes me upset)

I don't know if I would say 'good.' It did 'well enough to survive.'

Any more news on the future of the show? Yesterday's USA Today said it was unlikely to return. I'm still in denial and am hoping that they're horribly wrong.

Doesn't look good since a rerun of SVU stomped the Handler last night which had been beating Boomtown.

I think Boomtown is all but dead now. Its replacement, Third Watch, won the timeslot (3rd Fri night overall) and was the #1 Friday program in the 18-49 demo.

The last saving grace for Boomtown is that Bravo will broadcast the unaired episodes - which I see happening.

That does suck for Boomtown, but on the other hand, that is great news for Third Watch. I was really nervous when NBC moved it to Fridays.

*crossing fingers Average Joe is a Joe Millionaire size bomb tonight*

Oh well, never liked Third Watch so it's one less thing to have to watch on the weekend.
