I think that Raymond used to be a funny show at the beginning. I didn't start to watch it until a couple of years in, and based on the reruns that I saw from earlier seasons, they were much better. To me, King Of Queens is much better than this, as is Scrubs and CYE. At least CYE is starting to get some recognition.

Generally well acted? Perhaps he's not the only one on crack. Even with the highest political bias, you cannot deny that the acting on The West Wing is as good as there as ever been.
