I assume Brock needs to continue keeping an eye on Dr. Venture in case he ever changes his mind and decides to try to figure out the orb.

I'm guessing the whole thing will just fade into the background once the Monarch storyline picks up again. Which is fine.

The Venture Bros. --- "The Family That Slays Together, Part I" --- 8/17/08
This is the first part of the two-part Season 3 finale. It airs at 11:30 p.m. EDT on Adult Swim, or you can watch it right now via streaming video at Adult Swim's Web site.

The online version is uncut, running two minutes longer than the episode that will air on Adult Swim.

Plot summary:
Spoiler:
Brock Samson is a marked man. Terminated from the O.S.I., stripped of his license to kill, and hunted by three of the world's deadliest assassins, Samson has only one thing left: The Venture family. And he wants them as far away from him as they can get. But not even Molotov Cocktease, Hunter Gathers and a pair of friendly ex-O.S.I. comrades can sever the ties that bind. And The Monarch and Sgt. Hatred certainly aren't helping.

Everyone who was disappointed by the first few eps this season should find that this more than makes up for it. Brock manages to top that scene in "Ghost of the Sargasso" where he kills the guys with his ass -- and then he tops it again.

13 episodes come and go so quickly. At least it doesn't look like we have to wait another 2 years for the next season. Season 4 should be next summer or fall the way things are looking.

Plot summary:

Heads will fly as the explosive conclusion of "The Venture Bros." two-part season finale finds Brock and the Venture family on the run from the law, The Monarch, Sgt. Hatred and the entire O.S.I.! Only bald ingenuity and an unlikely ally can possibly save their necks from the deadly noose tightening around the Venture Compound, but they stand to lose so much more when they learn the hard way that you can't go home again.

ugh - we have to wait a whole year for the next batch of episodes that are pretty much done.

At least it gives them a head start on the season after that so there won't be a 2-year lag next time.

No they aren't. According to Jackson Publick's blog, they started the first few eps for season 4 but realized they needed a break and gave the entire crew six weeks off.
