Spider-Man 7/25
Loved the first episode, the second episode was decent. Besides some anime, I can't think of action animation better than what I'm seeing in Spider-man. It's true the backgrounds suck, but I never imagined they'd actually be able to emulate the action from the Spider-man comic in a movie or cartoon.
MJ's line about being friends forever contradicts the movie continuity. I don't mind them distancing themselves from the movie, but they're not following the comic and they never really setup their own world. I don't mind, it's just weird.

You have to realize that the cartoon, the old cartoon, the old jap show, the film, the comics(oh man, how the comics screw things up) all contradict continuity. you have to take each form as a different telling of the spider man legend. hell, I can't even count how many times spiderman's character has been changed when it comes to different writers. so take all of it as a grain of salt and just know the basics and enjoy it from thee.

This has no continuity from episode to episode. In the first episode MJ walked away mad when she saw Peter kissing that woman at the news station and the second episode they acted like it never happened.

The animation still bothers me... I think Hot Wheels does a much better job. And knowing that Teen Titans are aimed at kids, I'm able to enjoy that show a lot more.

Did everyone recognize James Marsters as the voice of the jetpack guy? My wife noticed that.
I'm really enjoying the show. The animation of Spiderman in action is unbelievably good at times and I like how they use his webbing.
About continuity, I think MTV is airing the episodes out of order. The guy Peter talked to in his lab class in the second episode tonight became the villian in the first episode they showed of the show.

Just when I think this series isn't good, I recall the days of Spider Man and His Amazing Friends or I will pop in one of my Buena Vista DVD collections of Spider Man and realize this is the best Spider Man on TV ever.

I don't know if this is the episode "Head Over Heels" with the stalker that was in love with Spidey, but did anyone else notice the magically moving eyebrow stud? The freaky girl starts out with a stud in her left eyebrow, then she has Peter over her place to study and gets her brain fried by the crock pot on her head, which causes a trickle of blood from her left nostril. The next scene where Spidey is talking to her from the scrapbook, the stud and blood are in her right eyebrow/nostril. I didn't know if this was supposed to be a Dr. Jekyl/Ms. Hyde thing, or if they just screwed up with the animation. I also thought she may have been looking at her reflection in the mirror, but there wasn't a mirror anywhere else in the room. Anyone else notice this?
