• Quoth freesia39 •
What's even sadder is there are ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS LEFT! what am i going to do on Tuesday and Wednesday nights now?

WHAT?!?!?! American Juniors, dude! I've already scheduled a Season Pass!!!

Or, you could go to a karaoke bar where you will likely find more talented performers.

[Charlie brown voice] We're DOOMED! [/Charlie brown voice]

Finally. And yes, Ryan was very abrupt. Clay looked scared out of his mind.

Let's hope Nikki McKibbin's son doesn't show up on the AI Juniors show.

I found the promos for "American Juniors" interesting. Part of the big appeal of "American Idol" is watching the folks that suck get reamed by the judges. Obviously, you get away with that when kids are involved. So it seems the "hook" this time is making fun of the showbiz parents.

Josh is gone! YAY! My faith in America has been restored.

So he sang out the show, huh? For once, I am happy that my Tivo cut off the end of a show.

I missed the performance, but I came into the room and my wife was in tears. Apparently somebody brought out his daughter and he sung to her.

Has his daughter always been there, or did they bring her this time expecting it to be his last show?

Ah, the Nikki McKibbin gambit. If he was smart, he would have done that on Tuesday night to get more votes.

I was noticing his wife in the audience and I was thinking: if my husband was on TV and I'm standing in the front row wouldn't I wear a little make-up or something?

She looked like she just rolled out of bed in the morning. She's not a bad-looking woman but she doesn't do much with her looks at all.

Whenever they show his wife in the crowd, she always looks pissed too. I don't know what the deal is.

Didn't realize you were in Cary Quaz - I work at the Circuit City over in Cary, but live in Raleigh... though I'm in Winston-Salem at the moment - do you know what radio station's broadcasting it and about what time? I'll try to listen if I can pick it up here in Winston.
From the Bulls website:

American Idol finalist Clay Aiken will perform the National Anthem before the game! Come out and have fun with Reggy the Entertainer on Twizzlers Thursday. Fans who present a Twizzlers Proof of Purchase at the Box Office will receive an International League Championship Prize. Don’t forget to enjoy 50 cent hot dogs all game long!

Damn! I may have to go!

They scrolled the radio station, but I can't remember which one!

I just returned a subwoofer cable to that Circuit City last Thursday!

So I guess they gave up on that whole "everyone's gonna live in the same house" thing, huh? I mean, they haven't mentioned it in a while, and it seems like contestants can go back to their hometown whenever they want.

That American Juniors thing... I can see making fun of the parents, like in that clip with the mom going off, but those kids are gonna be scarred for life. And when it comes time to judge their performances, is the Simon-wannabe gonna rip on the parents then too? This might push the concept of the show over to the cruel side...

The only reason I'm glad Kimberly Locke is still on the show is because the group songs would suck even more without any women...

I am less certain. They passed over Kimberly and dumped Josh, persumably so that the contest wouldn't be between 3 men. If my theory is correct they'd have to get rid of Reuben next. That way they would be "politically correct" by keeping one man, one woman one black one white. At least if that's what happens next week we'll know why. It's just a guess.

Are you some sort of conspiracy theorist? The outcome is based on the votes, dude, not what the producers or judges want.

Whatever happened to the chick that was supposed to live with them anyway? Kristin Holt (?) was kicked off in season one, and was supposed to have all the "behind the scenes" info from the house. I don't think that she was on once, after her initial visit. From what I have read, she wasn't well liked by anyone involved, but I thought that it was odd for Fox to totally drop it all together without saying anything about it (aka "The Dunkleman Strategy").

They have to cut the lame-ass promos whoring for Ford and Coke. There we have Ruben pimping it up big time and turning Clay "Alfalfa" Aiken into a fellow pimp wannabe. Just annoying to the max.

AI Juniors...I don't think I can take those stage moms.

Fox just didn't bring Dunkleman back for season 2. No big deal. Why even acknowledge it.

I thought that he was horrible, and am glad that he got booted, but I thought that it should have been mentioned in passing at least. I am sure that a lot of viewers wondered what happened to him (those that don't follow entertainment news anyway)...

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't like that promo. Made me a little sick to see Ruben and Clay dressed up like male-hoes and pimpin it with Josh and Kim (who's wardrobes looked a little less complete for the weird ad).

Just saw this on another board. Apparently Oprah was there last night and filmed an AI special after the show ended. Kelly was there too and sang. The person thinks it will air on Tuesday but is not sure.

I hate Oprah, but maybe I'll make an exception and suffer through it this once.

I got tickets to the show again last night. Got in - barely. Got rained on before we got in. But it was worth it! I didn't have the good seats I had before. I was further back by the aisle.

But I got Clay and Ruben's attention with my sign. The first sign said "CLAY: The Vanilla Thrilla". Clay say it and started cracking up with laughter. So much so, he pointed it out to Ruben who started cracking up too. Then I flipped the sign over which said "CLAY: The Southern Sinatra". To that he mouthed "Awww! That's so sweet! Thank you!"

Not too much inside dirt during commercials. They all behaved like they usually do. Clay and Kim held hands. Ruben and Clay joked around. Clay was really upset that Kim L. was down there.

OK, the SURPRISE!

After the show OPRAH came out!! Yes! We got to stay for a special American Idol OPRAH Show!! She interviewed Josh, Clay, Kim L. and Ruben. The final 10 also came out and sang "What the World Needs Now". And then ANOTHER surpise - KELLY CLARKSON came out and sang "The Trouble With Love Is".

I think Clay in the pimp outfit was funny. Not as funny as Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmel dressed as pimps in one of their skits though.

It seems FOX pulled west coast exclusive with Kristin Holt. I live on the east coast, but am fortunate to also receive FOX on my dish from FOX11 in LA. Well after the shows air on FOX11, Kristin is on the 10-0-clock news as a correspondant with 'news' about the idols. I dunno if this has gone on all season for FOX11, but it seems hardly fair the rest of the country doesn't get to see these idol exclusives.
