I honestly think she hasn't lost much weight but has definitely chosen better outfits for her body shape. The clothes are more flattering to her figure and are therefore more slimming. I did notice, however, that she got one major tan in the past week. She looks more black now than white (her parents are of different races).

I have to agree that his performances lack visually, and that for some reason, he has trouble controlling his breathing, but he has a great voice.
The reason he can't control his breathing is because he is so fat...and he needs more control than, say, Clay does.

I believe the term you're searching for is "big boned".

Ruben is the best. The rest suck. However I hope he doesn't win, as I think his career will be better if he is not know as a cheesy American Idol.

I'd like to see him come out with some Dave Hollister or Transitions type stuff. The ghetto R&B would be perfect.

Sounds like more of a stereotype than a medical explanation.
If that was the case, how would one explain the incredible amount of lung power held by people like Luther (in his heavy periods), Pavorotti, John Popper, etc?

Just wouldn't sound right to say, "The opera ain't over until the skinny chick sings."

My best guess is that he hasn't really learned how to control his air flow when singing yet (like that old Steve Martin joke about his girlfriend having a really sick music teacher.."He wanted her to sing from her diaphragm...like that was even possible.") A little training would probably fix that up.

I didn't until now. He kind of stomps around like him, too.

I just prefer to listen to Ruben. I don't really like anyone else, and sometimes he has offnights as well.

I always think of him singing Xmas carols with Tonto and Tarzan on SNL.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrr."

Flaberine. Did you see that close-up of Josh when he was running around the audience and mugged the camera? Scary stuff.

Didn't Luther just experience a stroke? And isn't Popper on a "diet"?

Fat is fat. SO what?

Man, it's a good thing they didn't let Josh sing to his daughter every night! I got so *verklempt* I might have even voted for him.

On another note, the local affiliate scrolled the fact that Clay is singing the National Anthem tomorrow night at the Durham Bulls game! (can't go , but the local radio station is gonna bcast it...)

Why was Ryan so quick with telling Josh that he was out after the commercial? It was unbelievably quick and abrupt. I thought that they were out of time, but they showed the video, and he was able to sing out. Very strange...

That's cool that Clay's coming back here between his Idol time... I'd've thought he'd stay over there.

Didn't realize you were in Cary Quaz - I work at the Circuit City over in Cary, but live in Raleigh... though I'm in Winston-Salem at the moment - do you know what radio station's broadcasting it and about what time? I'll try to listen if I can pick it up here in Winston.

Man Ryan, rip that band-aid off. I couldn't believe how quick that was. "Josh you are out."

I got a job today and Josh is off the show. It was a good day.

One gets the impression that Ryan may not like Josh all that much. That was pretty harsh, and not very suspenseful.

One also gets the impression that Josh didn't really care and was ready to go. He seemed almost happy when Ryan called his name for the bottom two.

I think all of the contestants involved knew it was a 2-horse race, so when it's time to go, it's time to go.

i was crying when josh was singing with his daughter. oh my that was so sweet!

Kim's little "i'm save again" yelp is BOTHERING me to no bounds. The other contestants are a tad more professional than her knowing that their safe, offer a quick hug, and run off to cry with the other contestants. (in fact both of the kims are/were pretty annoying, i could not stand kim caldwell)

i'm REALLY hoping kim is gone next week. I cannot stand her anymore. She was just ... so ordinary... like Simon said ... it just was NOT great.

What's even sadder is there are ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS LEFT! what am i going to do on Tuesday and Wednesday nights now?
