... it had something of a MST3K flavor to it.....
I finally caught it tonight, even after hearing a ton about it...a great, great drinking-game show too.

Definately one of the funniest shows I seens in a while. Maybe it will be on dvd some day-NOT?! The japanese sure are crazy: I remember seeing a video at Blockbuster a long time ago about a game show in which contestants had to eat insects, lay on nails, and do other dangerious and disgusting things. This show was out around 10 years before Fear Factor.
If you like the Most Extreme Elimination Challenge on TNN, you can go to the new TNN website and tell them how much you like the show. If many people show interest in the show, maybe they will keep in on the air for a while.

What a load. Of course it's accurate.
Next you're gonna tell me the Captain's name isn't Tenille.
I don't know which is funnier, the contestants or the commentary.

This Japanese show has been around since the early 90s. Yeah, that's right, the early 90s. Way way, before the reality TV series hit in America or England. So whether this show will continue to play on TNN will depend on the rating. They got plenty of episodes, and I mean plenty. Think it the show as popular as the Simpsons. That's about the same amount of time this show been around.

This show is awesome. I told my wife to watch it with me this past weekend - I didn't tell her anything about the show beforehand - I just let her sit through it and see what she thinks afterward.
Unfortunately, she was laughing so hard during the show that I think she missed half of the comments.
Which is really odd, b/c she really doesn't like MST3K (which has a somewhat similar idea, to a degree).

If I were still in college I'd turn this show into a drinking game.
Get the party to sit around the TV and the first person gets a shotglass ready. If the contestant on MXC fails his/her event, that person with the shotglass has to do a shot. If they complete the event, then the turn is passed without a drink. Then the next person goes and repeat.
Since 90% of all the contestants fail I'd figure this game would have a pretty high buzz factor.

Man, I just found this show...my wife and I haven't laughed so hard in so long...
Why do we get such amusement out of watching other people get hurt/do silly stunts?
BTW, my other favorite new summer show is "Stupid Behavior caught on Tape"
