Damn it, damn it, damn it.

I feel like I just read the last chapter of a book, man.

Why, oh why could I just make my cutesy little post HERE and leave it at that..??

Noooooooo..I had to take nny & das' advice and watch the last three episodes.. [curse you both to the nether regions of hell..or an internship under Bonnie Hammer -- whichever's most painful..].

I even had a dream about Stuckeyville [Though I can't remember the particulars..perhaps it had something to dow with a little Nancy & Carol action -- who knows? ]...THREE eps...that was it..

I'm trying hard not to read anything into Rob Burnett getting his old job at Letterman back this week and hope the ratings after the move to Friday is a good thing..

And, also...a pox on you tofu for defiling Brandon Tartikoff's name. If he were still alive, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion..as discussed in a previous thread, when others were quick to trash/cancel a show, Brandon took a chance and let them develop an audience.

If Ed is cancelled, we have Zucker to thank. And i'm sure we'll have another "reality" game show in its place..

Or maybe Dave could convince his boss Les to move it to CBS and retitle it CSI: Stuckeyville..

It could go both ways. It was a good season finale, as well as a series finale and it was meant that way in case this show doesn't come back. I'm with you though...Say it isn't so.

I woke up this morning feeling sad and depressed, to be honest. I was thinking of this show last night and how last night's episode might be the last one I ever watch again.

I'm not wacko over this show or anything, but it does hold some sentimental value to me...I have good memories in my life when I watched the pilot episode by accident 3 years ago when it was on Sunday nights and have been hooked ever since.

Whatever we have to do to get NBC to renew this for a 4th season, we gotta do it!

I gotta admit that it is prety depressing. My girlfriend is a big Ed fan as well, and can't wait for it to come out on DVD.

I found that regardless of the storyline, the show always managed to put a smile on my face by the end of it. Not many shows do that...

Ratings are in from Zap2it.com. Ed won its timeslot and was the only show up in ratings for Friday with 7.2/13.

well, i have been taking the morning to watch the first season and are reminded how great this show is (as if we didn't already know).

now for some good news. the preliminary ratings are in and a big for our favorite bowling alley lawyer.

http://tv.zap2it.com/news/dailyniels...ngs.html?30988
--------------------------------------
NBC won at 9 p.m. with "Ed," one of the few shows up for the week, with a 7.2/13. CBS was second with "Hack," which scored a 4.9/8. FOX slipped into third with "Big Daddy," which averaged a 4.2/8 for the hour. ABC's comedy duo of "8 Simple Rules" and "Regular Joe" trailed.
--------------------------------------

this, to me, is really good news. i tried to find the exact ratings for the last two weeks to compare these to but couldn't. sorry.

good episode. right up there with frankie and a couple of the better frankie episodes. the one thing i would have liked was a goodbye with frankie instead of just leaving her in the office. no plane or anything. and yes the college girl was hot.

Nice ending He had me going there with his picking of Frankie for the first two seconds of the speech. Good news about the ratings too.

Rogue, sorry about the Tartikoff comment. To be honest, his name is the only NBC exec I've ever remembered. No disrespect to him after I looked up his name on imdb and saw all the good things he did.

I'm sure that if they do decide to renew this show, it will have nothing to do with the plotlines or tidyness of the resolution of season 3. It will do with ratings and production budgets, period.

...which is probably why you remember his name. Let's see if future execs can say that..[Especially in this day & age when it seems EVERYONE knows/talks about "numbers/shares/ratings"..

But, it's no problem..just gimme a sec to put away my voodoo materials.

Hopefully the recent spike in the ratings will convince them to renew it.. And I read somewhere that they shoot in New Jersey?!? If so, my respect for the show has just gotten stronger*..

*[It's a personal pet peeve, but the more shows I like that don't shoot in Vancouver or Hollywood, the better..]

Sorry about that.

I didn't weigh in on this last night since everyone seemed to love the episode, and I didn't want to crap on what could be the final moments, but I didn't think it was that great. It was good, but I just didn't enjoy the way they dragged out the "decision." Even putting aside the fact that everyone on the planet knew he'd "choose" Carol, it just didn't work for me. We rushed into her realizing her love for him and then dragged out the season finale. The pacing just got on my nerves.

Great B story with Mike and Nancy and some funny moments with the 75th Anniversary subplot as well. All in all, it felt like a series finale, although I hope it's not.

I'm glad they at least put an end to it in case it doesn't come back. The show could take a turn for the worse with Ed and Carol together, but obviously everyone here is willing to risk that. I'd much rather see it come back! Plus I like the idea of Stuckeyville High graduation. If the show comes back next season they would definitely have to put that in somewhere. I think the show could do well as long as they keep the show balanced and not have Ed and Carol together for every plotline.

They took over the old bowling alley on Paris Ave. in Northvale, NJ (kinda next door to Jill Hennessey's tavern), and created sets, office space, production facilities, and the like. Basically, it's a fully functioning film facility. Letterman supposedly wanted the production close by so he could keep a hand in things. If you drive by it IS the Stuckeybowl.

They use our downtown (HP) for a lot of the exteriors of shops; during production they are in here about once every 10 days or so(my kids got to meet Santa in October during the Christmas ep)....

Can I get a copy too? Stupid Tivo deleted the episode before I got a chance to watch it.

I loved Friday's season finale. Every sub-plot in the show was excellent, imo.

Mike was great partying w/ the college girls, and I can understand why he was tempted - blondie was hot!

Eli and Shirley were great together in the anniversary plot - Shirley's best ep in a long time.

Ed and Carol - what can I say? I thought it was awesome! Oh, Carol - you are the most gorgeous woman on network tv, imo.

Add me to the list that hopes this show comes back for several years to come - I don't care if Ed and Carol break up a thousand times - their chemistry is great together. I love watching this cast work together, it would be sad to see it end. This show mixes comedy and drama better than any show on tv (though Scrubs does a good job mixing it up, too). Letterman fight to keep your show on the air!
