If Angel gets cancelled due to egos, then that would truly suck! The last thing you need to do when your program is struggling is start bickering for more money.

Nearly a full point over Sunday's Black Sash. If the two shows are truly going head-to-head in the race to be renewed, the scale continues to tip for Angel.

Come on Angel, Come on Angel, I am preying hard.

I want Angel to be renewed, but the stuff Tim Minear was saying about the "reinvention" of the show just flat out scared me. Yes, the show would be called Angel, but the soul of the show would could be ditched in the effort to make it "hipper" and attract a bigger audience.

I happen to like the hotel.

I would rather risk that, then risk having a cliffhanger that never was solved, or consider 5th season a bonus season, but I'm optimistic the show will be great.

I think Angel has changed alot, season one, especially the first 9 episodes with Doyal/Angel/Cordy was like a separate thing, and you had fans of that, and they were more iffy when we had the gang of wesly, gunn, fred, with cordy and angel, so yes it has evolved already, but it was handled greatly, with the angel themes still at the core, but also consider it as a ploy to make season 5 big, then perhaps a darker and very angel like 6th season, once the audience confirms a 5th season, then a likely last 6th season gets greenlight, and the producers can write how they want to the end the show properly, but if it means some sacifice in season 5 to change things, so be it, it may turn out better, give it a chance man!!!

I mentioned in a letter to the WB (like they would actually read it) that they could gain quite a bit from keeping Angel around for another year or two.

One: its actors are showing some fine range (with the exception of Charisma and whoever plays Conner).

Two: with Buffy ending, they stand to gain some spillover from the fans of that show who watched it exclusively but are not yet ready to say goodbye to the Buffyverse. In fact, that might be a reason they want to make season five a square one sort of deal.

I remember David Boreanze testing for the role of Superman some months back, and Superman people at WB, said we believe the Angel show is coming to a end this year, so it would provide David with something new after, but then after they said, word has it, his show would be coming back, thus ruling him out as a contender......



I also hope the strong dvd sales of Angel season one in US, impresses fox, as dvd sales off tv programmes, count for 10% of all dvd sales, so whatever contract stuff WB has to talk to Fox about, I hope Fox go with it, as they got a great selling dvd programme on their hands as well.

I would love for Angel to stick around if the heart of the show isn't compromised.
Shows change, as Alias did this season, but no one respects pandering to a mass audience. I would love for as many people as possible to enjoy this show, but to completely disregard loyal viewers will adversely affect the network.
As a reply to one of the earlier posts where it mentioned people always blaming failing shows on bad scheduling and this completely being a copout, I completely disagree. I watched Angel from season 1 to 3. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch this season's episodes. The reason - the WB's crappy schedule juggling. Moving the time slot 4 times in 4 years causes core audience members to eventually quit watching. In my case, as soon as they moved Angel to Sunday, they lost me. By the time they moved it to Wednesday, I had missed out on so much due to their scheduling foupas, that there was no point in tuning in. I now have more shows that I religiously watch than I used to: Buffy, Alias, 24 and the Sopranos. Angel was part of my must watch list and the WB killed that. I've never liked Angel quite as much as Buffy (my favorite show, fyi), but over its run, it has really created its own identity as a quirky, interesting and fun show. Hopefully, WB will leave the show on Wednesday and I will start watching again next season. Thanks for listening to my rant.
