mike: "blown the damn whistle lady!!"
anyway, this is another hour that goes to show that the best times on this show are when it's nothing but ed and carol together. they play off of each other sooo well. while not as momentous as when they were stuck in stuckeybowl together, it was still a time when you could see that these two deeply care for each other. next friday (ugh!) should be very interesting to see what will happen in regards to previews.

I had been looking forward to this episode all week, but I screwed up tonight when I set the timer on the vcr and didn't check to see if my tape was rewound. I only caught the first 15 minutes of the show. My tape cut out right after the baby started crying. Someone please give me a synopsis of what happened between Ed and the most beautiful woman on network tv, Carol Vecsey (Julie Bowen). I can't believe I did this, I have been waiting for her to have a major part of the story for weeks now, too.
Though I didn't mind missing Molly Shannon, just the few minutes I saw of her she was already getting on my nerves.

Aaaargh! Molly Shannon? Why does this woman still have a job? The only thing she ever plays is the most annoying woman on Earth. I was with Dr. Mike all the way!
You didn't miss much Bahist. Mike and Nancy go to a Bed and Breakfast for a weekend and Ed convinces them to let him babysit. He's doing fine until bedtime, Sarah starts missing her parents. Ed calls Carol since Frankie is out of town and not appearing this episode. So Ed and Carol spend the whole weekend together. I thought it was a pretty ingenious way to force those two to spend time together alone and share an awkward moment when Carol confesses to Ed that she feels "weird" about him and Frankie. She asked him if he remembered what he felt like when she started dating Dennis. Anyway, they made a good babysitting team and of course complimented each other's parenting skills just to plant the seed in their heads.
Mike and Nancy's weekend was horribly ruined by the ever constantly overbearing inn keeper, Molly Shannon. Not funny at all until Mike finally snapped at her. I was hoping they would all tie her up and pelt her with snowballs. The Eli and Phil story was boring and pointless as usual. Only thing interesting there is they made it pretty obvious that Eli still has a thing for Shirley.

I can't stand Molly Shannon either. To me, she absolutely ruins everything that she is in.
This episode was pretty good, but not spectacular. More Dr. Jerome next time, and definitely less (or preferably none) Phil. God I wish that he had to leave Ed to go on that stupid prank video show that he used to host...

The scene in which Ed & Carol were bathing Sarah reinforced in my mind how nutty Carol is. Did you see the look on her face when she was talking about how she invited everyone but whoever-her-name was to her toga party (rawr, Carol in a toga), and then how they should have an awesome kids' party and not invite the poor, innocent kid? Frickin' psycho. And to make things worse, Ed played right along. Frankie deserves better than you, Ed!

Next week's episode looks great!

I just read this on TV Guide taking a break that Ed is on an indefinite hiatus. Here is a link http://www.tvguidelive.com/update/break.html What does this mean?

i don't know.. i think he may be mixing messages.. i think this article is reflecting its move to Fridays...
but, alternatively, (and unfortunately, more likely, considering the source) it could also mean that they have stopped shooting any further episodes for now and that it will not be starting up again until NBC decides to start it up again. if that's true... it's time to start the petition, folks!
just like Providence. bloody frickin' arseholes!

They put a graphic up during the show saying the move to Friday is next week, so I doubt the TV Guide report. I think it's just a mistake. I would think they would at least see how it does on Friday before they put it on "indefinite hiatus"

i think that tvguide link is referring to status of the show after it airs its last eps on April 4th. the show's renewal status is unclear until decision is made by nbc in May. that's what the indefinite hiatus is in reference to, i believe.
anyway, i was really psyched all week about last night's show and it did not disappoint. oh, how i missed those ed/carol moments. thankfully we got a good dose of them y'day. i was also grateful for the Frankie-less eps....i've had enough of her lately.
did anyone notice this possible blooper-uncut scene: when ed and carol were at that playcenter and ed sees the mother of the little girl that dissed sarah.....as he is walking towards her, someone from the background bounces a yellow ball off of Ed's head
He just says "hey!" and continues with his scene. now, that couldn't be part of the script
I got a nice giggle outta that.
ok, time to go back to bed.

seems like i was the only one not too happy with the episode. i hate the couple mentality of this episode. nancy and mike can't hold their end of the show up, and i don't want ed with carol. i was upset to see no frankie in this episode. are they just sliding her out like that? i hope not.

Well, you might not like it but whether it's the last episode of the series, sooner or, hopefully, next season Ed is going to end up with Carol.
I didn't really think it was a great Ed episode either. But I do love Dr. Mike and it was nice to see Shirley get a little bit more screen time.
It seems that they did a nice, sweet, "family" episode almost to play into the fact that the best chance for Ed to survive is for it to be perceived as a show for the entire family to watch, at a time when there isn't much of that on. I'm ok with a few episodes a season of that if we get more episodes like the lucid dream one.
Also, with the lead in of the kid talent show next Friday I thought an episode of Ed revolving around a small child was kind of clever. If, in fact, that had anything to do with it.

Is anyone doing anything to help save Ed there is a list of suggestions at http://www.stuckeyville.com Click on this link and it will take you there. If shudder at the thought Ed is canceled I do not know if other stations WB or UPN or Pax would pick this up. The show is starting to get really good It will be hard to top the Captain Lucidity episode. The show still has a good two seasons left in the tank. I would like to organize and try to save Ed for at least one more season. If we can't get that then we should fight for a dvd release.
