All-American Girl - 3/12/03

courtesy of abc.com

-----------------------------------------------------
Two-Hour Series Premiere!
Wednesday, March 12 9/8c
The creators of American Idol are staging a sensational competition to search for the ultimate "All American Girl." The show will search for women who are talented in the worlds of dancing, sports, singing or acting, and with the personality and charisma to stand out from the crowd. In the 13-part series, one woman will be propelled to nationwide fame as the holder of the title "All American Girl."
-----------------------------------------------------

This is that new show on ABC that tries to pick the All-American girl based on looks, personality, smarts, athletic talent, etc. The shows coaches are: Geri Halliwell, John Salley, and Suzanne de Passe. The host is Mitch Mullany.

First of all who is Geri Halliwell to pick the all AMERICAN girl. First of all this girl has no talent in the first place. Not only that, but she's not even from America.

So far I'm thirty minutes into watching this show and I am completely bored out of my mind. This show absolutely sucks. Anybody else watching this show?

Turned it off after 15 minutes. ABC can't even rip off other reality shows. Its American idol, with no guys, and slightly less singing.

Celebrity mole, sucks. Get me out of here, sucks. All american girl, sucks. The family, sucks. The bachelor (IMHO) sucks. ABC just needs to face facts, and try making good sitcoms. In 10 or 15 years, they might get one ... maybe.

Plus... I'd like to think the All American Girl would have enough dignity to stay off of a reality show.

They can't even come up with an origina TITLE. I thought Margaret Cho's sitcom was back on...

What's next? A reality show about Execs trying to come up with a reality show?

So did I! Bad show title.

BTW, Geri Halliwell is a really nice person. I met her at a small restaurant in London this past Fall. She was very cool and seemed very genuine. I'm really not a fan and don't really know her music (although I do think she was the most talented of the Spice Girls). I only approached her to pet her small dog, Harry. Yep, she brought it in the restaurant. No one seemed to mind. And the dog wasn't in anyone's way. Just sat in a chair. I knew who she was, but didn't let on. I just went over and told her that I liked her dog and she just started talking to me and my friends. Sorry for going off topic. Just saw her name and wanted to share. She was also on Stern this morning and was hilarious.

They played a few clips this morning on the radio:

Number of states in the union: "51", "52"

Our Nations capital: San Francisco

And who says we don't have the best educational system in the world?

Not watching this show, but I'll drop in to defend Halliwell too. I've always liked her; she's really nice in person and has been a good sport about the whole Spice Girls thing. She's also a great talk show guest.

Psst ... and she's hot.

Yeah, she looked it on Vaughn..er..i mean Letterman. But I sorta think she looked better when she was in the Spice Girls..she was a lil fluffier then..

I was going to say something like this too, but didn't want to come across sounding like a pig But (hell) yes....she is REALLY goodlooking in person. And very tiny. I bet she's only 5'3 or 5'4. She's also very blonde these days. When she walked in the restaurant, everyone looked at her. She's a head turner for sure. I personally think she looks better now than when she was Ginger Spice. One last thing about her being a nice. I saw her on the news in England a day or two later after I met her. Apparently she's the head of some organization that goes around and visits sick children in hospitals all over the U.K. Entertaining them, bringing them gifts. I really don't think she expected to be filmed this particular day. She wasn't made up at all. Was in sweat pants and looked like she was trying to dodge the camera. But seeing that story made me like her more. I almost went out and bought her album!

I know the other night I saw her on Letterman w/ Vince Vaughn and last night she was on Conan - I don't find her gorgeous, but she is really cute and she is sexy as hell. I think this is the first time I have ever realized it, though. She looks much better than she did on the Spice Girls, imo.

Oh yeah, she is a great guest, too.

Indeed. She was hilarious on Howard Stern yesterday. And even more fun on Graham Norton.

Denis Leary already did it. I think it was called Project Red Light (a takeoff of Project Green Light)

She was great on Vaugh and on Stern.....she kinda turned the tables a bit on both by asking her own share of questions.

Yes, she is hot (much better looking than with the Spice Girls) and quite a good singer on her own, though finding her albums in the States isn't possible.
