that tv guide link is interesting. many shows have really long renewals. i wonder wh the more succesful shows don't get that, too.

as for the list in the first post:

Already Granted Another Season:
The Surreal Life, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter
High School Reunion, Life with Bonnie, Joe Millionaire, Less Than Perfect - who cares

No Need to Worry:
Everwood
Without a Trace, Half and Half and CSI: Miami - don't care

Pray for Them:
American Dreams, Dragnet
Hack, Star Search, Still Standing, Boomtown, My Big Fat Greek Life - lots of shows i don't care about

Flip a Coin:
Good Morning, Miami, Greetings from Tucson, What I Like About You, Kingpin
Fastlane, Cedric the Entertainer Presents, The Twilight Zone, John Doe - lots of tv i don't watch

Don't Hold Your Breath: Are You Hot?, Mister Sterling, Do Over, Hidden Hills.

Good as Gone: I'm a Celebrity--Get Me Out of Here!, A.U.S.A., Miracles, Veritas, Family Affair, Abby.

nothing of the last two is interesting me so i am fine with all that leaving.

• Quoth apeyard •
On NBC, Sunday's standout remains Law & Order: Criminal with a first place 11.8/17 at 9 p.m. -- double its disappointing American Dreams lead-in (5.9/ 8)

I'm not sure what they expect. Sundays at 8pm is a notoriously bad dramatic timeslot, and there may not be a more confusing lead-in than American Dreams before Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Boomtown/Kingpin.

Good to hear ABC's keeping their Tuesday night lineup. They aren't the best sitcoms out there, but they're solid and have lots of talented people so they could get better.

Welllll, I cant say I am surprised.
Miracles a show with promise is probably not going to be around for long but reality programs will be.
ABC and FOX suck for doing this.

God with Buffy and Farscape ending and all these reality shows on, who wants to watch TV anymore??
Well, I guess someone likes these types of shows or they wouldnt be getting the ratings they are getting.

Boy is this a sad time for Television.

There is a very interesting "roundtable" article in the latest Entertainment Weekly (Six Feet Under cover) with several tv producers.

One of the things they say is that the networks are giving reality shows a lot of leeway, simply because they are pulling in 30 shares. But one point they made is that since there is no money in syndication, to cancel potentially long running shows means that they aren't looking at the big picture, and will be paying for that down the line.

Another also pointed out that TV trends are cyclic (like Westerns and game shows) and hopes that this trend will end too. I think it might get to the point where something is so offensive that people won't watch it.

Can any one else confirm if Joe Millionaire is comming back?

I read that casting, filming, and even the funding was all a secrete at fox. How could they film 2 of them at the same time.

I find it hard to beleive that the the studio gave a green light to produce 2 shows (People have a hard time just getting a network to OK a couple of pilot episodes)

I would think that if Fox had these in the can they would have been out now. Fox is a ratings whore and would ride the JM train till the end.

However, if it does come out I smell a "scripted" reality show. (-cough- 7-Lives-eXposed)
