That didn't bother me unlike the stupid "I don't know what the card says" delay.

Like, we are supposed to believe that the judges had NO IDEA who America's Choice was beforehand so they could choose accordingly.

They should have just said they were saving the America's Choice for last instead of that forced schtick.

Didn't Simon also say that watching the tape at home, he realized that "some people weren't as good "as he thought they were, and other people were better." (He sound the sound for the judges in the studio is different than what comes across on TV.)

As soon as he said that, I thought for sure he was talking about Nasheka, since she was the only other person besides Clay who he still lavishly praised.

I knew he wasn't going to pick Nasheka as soon as he said that.

Here's the theme for next week:

Spoiler:
It's going to be mainly Billy Joel songs that the contestants will be singing. Billy Joel will actually be on the show as well - Paula Abdul reported this on last night's Entertainment Tonight.

Cool. I want to hear Clay (or someone) do
Spoiler:
"Allentown".
.

One of my all-time favorite guilty-pleasure type songs.

You know what theme I'd like to see American Idol do? James Bond songs.

I think it would be cool to hear the contestants sing songs like "Nobody Does It Better", "We Have All the Time in the World", "For Your Eyes Only", "You Only Live Twice", "Goldfinger", etc.

Doh! Change of theme due to scheduling conflict.

No more spoiler text on themes because I don't think it'll ruin people's enjoyment of the upcoming episode.

Next week will not feature Billy Joel songs because he can't be there until April due to scheduling, so Motown will again be the theme. Damn Paula Abdul jumped the gun with her announcement on Wednesday, and corrected the info last night on ET.

I'll bet Clay is just begging for an Elton John themed show.

I hope they do Burt Bacharach again.

That was one of the most interesting shows last year. It really showed who could sing.

Wow, Clay tore it up!

I think he could easily be in the Top 2. His voice is just amazing.

If Clay doesn't win this competition, he could easily make a career singing on Broadway. His voice is probably the best singing voice, as far as technique, out of any of the others in the top 12.

I think regardless if Clay wins AI2 or not, he will have a sucessful career in the music business. The guy can sing. He doesn't have the handsome look of some popstars but he's not offensive looking.

I'm not surprised that the shows are going to be 2 hours. 1 hour isn't enough to give all 12 finalists time to sing, plus show those cheesy production numbers.

Yeah, can't wait for the group sing-along for the latest Coca-Cola product placement.

Just think, with 2 hours, we may get multiple Coca-Cola Sing-a-longs each episode! Woo hoo!!!

I think what they did to Clay was really sadistic, you could tell the poor guy thought he'd lost out, then when they announced him, he was nearly in tears. Very cruel.

The girl Simon picked out was v. poor, there were others much more deserving imo.
